Sylphs Fairies

  Sylphs Fairies
Sylphs Fairies
Sylphs are spirits of the Air. Their Element has the highest vibratory rate of the four Elments - Air -Earth-Fire-Water. They have long life up to hunderds of years, often reaching one thousand and never looking like they have aged a day older. They live high on the mountain peaks. The leader of these Sylphs Faeries is a being called 'Paralda who is said to dwell on the highest mountain of the Earth. Some have said that the Sylphs fairies often assume human form, but this is only for a very short periods of time.  Sometimes their voices are heard in the wind or their airy forms are felt in passing through, but they are rarely seen. These Sylphs faeries can range in size, meaning that they can be as large as a human or described as almost transparent, very small, and winged or alternatively as tall with long feathered wings, large, hawk-like eyes, and angular faces. As I said before these Sylph's are usually seen with wings, but transparent. They look like cherubs probably because of their connection to the air, which is associated with the mental aspect, one of their functions is to help the human race receive inspiration. These Fairy Sylphs are drawn to those who use their minds, particlarly those who are creative with their minds. It seems that over the thousands of years the Sylphs fairies have had a problem with caring on their legacy in the manner of bearing their own fae young. They are an ancient and very proud group of Fairies and their society is dying out. It is for this very reason that these divine faeries if you will, come down of their mountain tops and rejoined changeling society in large numbers. It would be a very sad day if these Sylphs fairies would to die because they help the human race receive inspiration. If they were to die, at least they would be remembered for the honour, glory and majest that is inherent to any of their decends. These Sylphs Fairies are mostly soliary fairies and are content to soar the skies with the eagles. These Sylphs Faires care little about the doing or polities of the ground faireis or even the elves and they wil rarely interfere with the changling society. The only time that they may assocaitat with the changling society is like I had metioned before as their own socitey is dieing out and they had to assoiete with them. These Fairies rarely do associtiate with other type of fairies, but when they do, they usually form bonds that will last a life time. The word of a Sylphs Fairy-is golden They hold their word of honor - And to be inviolate and once sworn to protect their kin, they will defent to their death. The term sylph is derived from the Greek word silphe, which means a 'butterfly' or 'moth' – indeed, fairies are popularly depicted with butterfly wings. These Fairies are volatile and changeable too. The winds are these particular Fairies vehicle to getting around. What they do is, they work through the gases and element of winds of the Earth. They are also known to be very kindly toward humans.
The Ancient Celts regarded butterflies as symbols of fairies or

Ancestral Spirits and they appear in Celtic stories as guides to the Otherworld or Fairyland, where the dead also dwelt. Ariel is the King of air Elementals and controls all the powers of air. Some fairies seem to represent spirits of weather, particularly whirlwinds, wind, storm, rain, lightning, sunshine and so on. The Wind knots of Folletti of Italy ride storms, the Guriuz bring good weather to farmers, and Mania is the lightning while her brothers are the two founders, The Salvanelli raise storms to ride on the wind and the Swedish Skosra is a violent whirlwind.
