Owls have always been a mystery to me. They have always been surrounded in myth

and enigma throughout the centuries world-wide. They are nocturnal, so through the centuries the Owl has symbolized the enigma of the night and darkness. The Owl is sacred to the Goddesses Minerva and Athena, and is a symbolized symbol of the Moon,

Magick, Shape-shifting, Skinwakers, Dreams, Messages Between Worlds, and Freedom.

There are over 100 species of Owls found all over the world, but sad but true 11 of these Owls are endangered, 45 of these Owls are nearly extinct due to the destruction of their homes [their natural habitats and unfortunately hunting/pouching]

The Owls blink is that like of the humans, by closing the upper eyelids. This gives them a human-like expression. Unlike humans, however, the eyes don't move! This is what sets the Owls apart from Humans and most animals in the Animal Kingdom.

The Owl has a very flexible neck, giving it a wide range of peripheral vision. They also have, like other birds of prey, a third eyelid which moves from side to side, cleansing the eye and clearing vision. Of course all Owl species have their own unique characteristics

which are unique. In this post I hope to show many different Owls. I have always been fascinated with the Owl and the Mystery behind them with the Moon and the night.
