Lilith-

Lilith-
I have always been curious about the stories about Lilith and Eve.
so I thought what better place to put my thoughts, is to tell the story and find out the story and share it with all of you!
First in effort to explain what is said in the Old Testament & The Book of Splendour, but you must
remember this is from many different people views on biblical text & an book written by Spaniard Moses de Leon 1240-1305.  There are many different views on this subject that it, would be to difficult to but them all in one post. According to midrashic literature, He seems to believe that Adams first wife was not Eve, but a woman named Lilith, who was created in the first Genesis account. Only when Lilith rebelled and abandoned Adam did God create Eve. At the same time Jehovah created Adam, he created a woman, Lilith, who like Adam was taken from the earth, She was given to Adam as his wife. But there was a dispute between them about a matter that when it came before the judges had to be discussed behind closed doors.
She spoke the unspeakable name of Jehovah and vanished.
So the question is Who was Lilith? She had many names Seductress, Heroine Even Murderer? The last one I'm quite sure she wasn't that bad, but lets see what she was together.
Its seems the more I read about Lilith it comes back to medieval Jewish Times/Tradition. Each time it is which this culture that I find these questions about Lilith. So It makes me think that within there religion or
tradition long ago that they believed that, Lilith was Adam's fist wife, before Eve. When Adam  insited that Lilith play a subservient role, She grew wings and flew away from Eden, is one version of the tale. However
Lilith was created in many different tales. She was in the medieval authors would drew on the ancient legends of the winged Lilith of having wings a seductive, murderous demonises known from the Babylonian Mythology period. but in recent years Lilith has undergone another transformation as modern feminists have
retold the story in their own version of the tale. So it really seems that Lilith has evolved over the years as I continue to write this post.. It is very interesting too.
Another theory was that for 4,000 years Lilith had wandered the earth and her dark origins lie from the Babylonian's demonology. And from there is where they emulated and incarnated her use of sinister powers,
of the winged spirit who would pray on pregnant women and infants. Lilith next migrations to the world were that of the ancient Hittites, Egyptians, Israelites and Greeks. It was only in the Bible Scripture that she makes a solitary appearance, as a wilderness demon shunned by the prophet Isaiah.
Now in the Middle Ages Lilith reappears in Jewish sources as the dreadful first wife of Adam.
And then in the Renaissance Ages, Michelangelo portrayed Lilith as a half-woman, half-serpent, coiled around
the Tree of knowledge. Later, more her beauty would be captivated by an English poet by the name of
Dante Gabriel Rossetti. "Her enchanted hair," he wrote, "was the first golden." It seems that just about everyone around the countries and almost very different cultures, religious had their own opinion on Lilith.
There is more, there were: Irish novelish who casted her as the 'Patron of abortions', Modern feminists would celebrate her bold struggles for Independence for Adam, Her name would even appear as the title of
a Jewish woman's magazine and a national literacy program, but the most interesting thing that I found that
had to do with Lilith was an annual music festival that donates its profits to battered women's shelters
and breast cancer research institutes is called the Lilith Fair. It seems with all the negative aspects of Lilith she has been able to overcome them over the thousands of years..
Originating about the same time as the Gigamesh epic is when a Terracotta plaque, known as the Burney
Relief, that some of the Scholars have described as the first known pictorial representation of Lilith.  Some would even call her Inanna. The Babylonian would show Lilith as a beautiful naked sylph bird with wings, taloned feet and her hair was contained under a cap decorated with several pairs of horns. She would stand atop of two lions between two owls, apparently bending them to her will. Lilith's association with the owl connects her to another of the night terrors.. It seems that they have associated Lilith with almost every kinda either chaos' or not so evil creature. Its really hard to tell where she really stood, with so many different options. I think the hardest part with Lilith is to find the parts that she was said to be part of the bible as Adams first wife before Eve. I truly did have a hard time finding info on that and found lots of info on her everywhere else.. but I will find it for you!
Ok I found it! A Man by the name of Ben Sira cites the bible passage indicating that after creating  Adam, God realizes that it is not Good for man to be alone ( Genesis 2:18) The Lord God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him." I got this scripture from my own bible. And Ben Sira Continued to add to the biblical tale from that,  he goes on to saw the Almighty then fashions another person from the earth, a female called Lilith. Soon the human couple begin to fight, but neither one really hears the other. Lilith refuses to lie underneath Adam during sex, but he insist that the bottom is her rightful place. He apparently belives that lilith should submissively perform wifely duties. Lilith, on the other hand, is equal because we are both created from the earth.''
The validity of Lilith's argument is more apparent in Hebreww, where the words for man -Adam and 'Earth' come from the same root, adm [nst] [adam] [nst]=Adam; adamah [vnst] = earth. Since Lilith and Adam are formed of the same substance, they are alike in importance.
Eve meet Lilith. Lilith - depicted with a woman's face and a serpentine body - assaults Adam and Eve beneath the Tree of Knowledge.
Then I found according to Medieval Jewish apocryphal tradition which attempts to reconcile the two Creation stores presented in Genesis - Lilith was Adam's first wife.
In Genesis 1:27 'So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.' [From my bible] God creates man and woman simultaneously from the earth.  In  Genesis 2:7 'the Lord God formed the man from dust of the ground and breathed  into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became living being.[From my bible] however, Adam is created by himself from the earth; Eve is produced later, from Adam's rib. Genesis 2:21-22 'So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. [From my bible]. Then In Jewish Legend(Erich Lessing/Art Resource,NY) , the name Lilith was attached to the woman who was created at the same time as Adam. The
struggle continues until Lilith becomes so frustrated with Adams stubbornness and arrogance that she brazenly
pronounces the Tetragrammaton, the ineffable name of the Lord. God's name (YHWH), Translated as,
Lilith
"Lord God' in most Bibles and roughly equivalent to the term "Yahweh," has long been considered so holy
that it is unspeakable. During the days of the Jerusalem Temple, only the High Priest said the word out loud,
and then only once a year, on the Day of Atonement. In Jewish theology and practice, there is still mystery and majesty attached to God's special name. The Tetragrammaton is considered  "the name that comprises all" -Zohar.  In the Bible's burning bush Exodus: 3 Well the book of Exodus is quite long and it does talk a little about the meaning of the divine name and "I am what Iam , but there is so much more in the book than just that. The thing that I am finding is that I am not finding anything that has to do with Lilith in my bible.
It seems that they get when God explains divine, or I am what I am - Is a formula for YHWH -vuvh, associated with the Hebrew root to be. The whole of the Torah is thought to be contained within the holy name. In That Alphabet, Lilith sins by impudently uttering the sacred syllables, thereby demonstrating to a medieval audience her unworthiness to reside in Paradise. So Lilith flies away, having gained power to do so by pronouncing Gods avowed named. Though made of the earth, she is nothing earthbound. her dramatic departure reestablishes for a new generation Lilith's supernatural character as a winged devil.
In the Gilgamesh and Isaiah episodes, Lilith flees to desert spaces. Her destination is the Red Sea, site of
historic and symbolic importance to the Jewish people. Just as the ancient Israelites achieve freedom Pharaoh at the Red Sea, so Lilith gains independence form Adam by going there. But even though Lilith is the one who leaves, it is she who feels rejected and angry.
This has been a very interesting, and a kinda confusing post at least for myself. I really never have heard of Lilith before and I thought it would be interesting, but after doing the post I am a bit more confused.. I had my bible out when I was doing this post and even wrote out a few Scripture to try to understand where Lilith is in the bible or if its just a myth, legend or a different religious as I have mention in the post. I am glad I did the post as I am with each post that I do. Although I know now that sometime even with myself I am not always going to come up with the answers on each of my posts.
I hope that You were interested.. I did my best ..
I have just added a few images photo's that explained more indetail about the Story of Lilith, I hope these last few images that I added will help you all:o)

Pan - The Goat Hooved God

Pan -The Goat Hoofed God-
The Greek God Pan is perhaps one of the most recognized ancient deities in
Greek Mythology. I hope that you my dears will Enjoy my next post on the playful ancient
deity Greek Horned God Pan. I thought I would explore new and different Gods that have
a bit of personality. Enjoy!
Perhaps it could be his most familiar form, the Horned God/
Wild Man. Pan is more of an rustic God whose home is the remote Peloponnesian
Arcadia surrounded by the mountains. He wonders through the woodlands glades
with the dancing nymphs, Pan with his long-haired and shaggy looks the deity whose haunts
are the mountain peaks and rocky caves  are a keen-eye hunter as well as good shepherd.
Pan would play his pipes in the evening, vying with the bird songs and would joined by the
sweet-voiced Nymphs, almost every evening. Their music would echo around the mountain tops,
Pan
while the goat-footed God would always join in the dancing and other activities that would go on
all night long in the warm summer nights in his mountains. Pan's pastures that he flocks were in a soft meadow where the crocus and the fragrant of hyacinths mingled with the tender grasses under their bare
feet.  Pan is an ancient God indeed, harkening back to the old hunter/ gatherer societies with their horned
or antlered shamanic Gods. But with the Neolithic revolution came agriculture and animal domestication.
So Pan became the herdsman's God associated with goats which were the principal livestock of that part
of Greece.
Pan's origin's were in Arcadia, where he would worship on Mount Maenalus and Mount Lycaeus which were  sacred to him. I found in doing this post that, The Gods On Mount Olympus had a bit of a tiff when it came to his came to what Pan name means:
Pan
Pan
Here's the story: The Homeric Hymn relates that when Hermes brought the infant Pan to Mount Olympus, all the Gods were delighted and they decided to call him Pan, which means literally 'All'. The ancient scholars of Alexandria believed that Pan personified the Natural Comos, and the word Pantheism is derived from this idea, that all Nature is God and that God is All Nature:  not merely a manifestation of the material world but the Animus Mundi, the spirit of the natural world. The problem was modern linguistic scholars, tend to prefer to derive the name of Pan from a word which means 'pasturer'. The spread of Pan's worship beyond his home pastures of Arcadia was said to have arisen around the 5th Century BCE.
Pan asked why the Athenians why they neglected him, and so the Gods promised them victory over the
Persians if they would worship Pan. At Marathon, the Persians were routed and fled in a Panic: so, the
Athenians built a temple for Pan on the Acropolis and his worship soon extended to all of Greece.
Pan was a very happy goatfooted, noisy, laughing and loved the ladies in either Godly form, Nymphs or even human sometimes which had a number of possibility's of parents. His first possibility was Pan being the son of Hermes by the Arcadian Nymph Dryope. Pan could possibly be the son of Zeus by Thymbris or Callisto, Another mother for Pan could be Amalthea the Cretan Goat-goddess who was the nursemaid to both
Zeus and Dionysus.
Pan with river nymphs
in the forest
It seems as Pan got more poplar in Greece they seemed to use these attributes along with symbols of male sexuality. This was both in Greece and The Romans. In Roman is where it got started that you would Identified Pan with their own God Faunas and Piraeus from Asia Minor, whose characteristics and physical appearance were very similar to Pan.
Pan had many lovers, at that. And they were both female and male, quite apart from his constant pursuit of
the anonymous nymphs that would come looking for him in his woodlands. Even though he was portrayed as
aggressively masculine, Pan's sexual nature was so profound that it transcended any boundaries; in this He
resembled both Hermes and Dionysus's. Two of Pan's better-known love affairs including the Moon Goddess
Pan with many nymphs in his
forest
Selene and his pursuit of the Nymph Syrinx whose father was the river Ladon. Lodon rescued his daughter form Pan by turning her into a reed. Frustrated, Pan plucked some reeds and made His Pan-pipes to recall the sweet voice of His would be love thought his musical pipes made out of the very reeds  that once were his beloved Nymph Syrinx. His pipes were called the Syrinx. Beyond His pastoral, hunting, and musical nature Pan shared with his father,
Hermes, the gifts of wisdom and prophecy.  In this sense, Pan seems to personify the concept of wisdom through oneness with Nature. He had a positive side that was
portrayed as the laughing, lusty lover and musician. This side of Pan was called the "Pangenitor' the all-begetter.
But like all the Gods of Nature Pan had a shadowy side as well too. This was seen in Pan the Hunter side and the Pursuer who was prone to violence and madness at times, well in this form Pan is called 'Panphage' the all-devourer and as such He was perceived as a dangerous protector of the Wilderness. He could cause
a sudden panic and irrational wild fear in the noonday silence of a deserted mountainside of his forest. This dark side of Pan and also his rampant sexuality were looked on with such horror and disgust by the Medieval Christian Church that some of their images of the devil were given the horns, hooves and his sexual appearance at times/ of the familiar Greek God Pan. Nevertheless even with the images of Pan in His European guise of Robin Goodfellow continued to be the focus of joyous rural celebrations well into the 16th century CE. It was said that many romantic poems were written in the 18th and 19th centuries, recalling the classical glory and the Nostalgia God of Nature Pan in the so-called Age of Reason: This is  one of the poems: Shackle by the Iron Age
Lost the Woodland heritage, Heavy goes the heart of man, Parted
from the light-foot Pan; Wearily he wears the chain, Till the Goat-god comes again.Pan as protector and represented the Mystery and divinity of the wild Nature. He was a gentle Piper at the
gates of dawn, and he poised magic in his pipes of music. Yet, Pan is also a proud celebration of the
liberationg power of male erotic energy in its purest and most beautiful form.  At the time, when the
puritanical and prurient forces are working for the same goals, it is vital that we reclaim joyous, non-exploiative male sexuality form the morass of vilification and suppression. Pan was a Gender is the Father, the Lover, the Son , the Brother and the Friend who is real, powerful and true. His message to us today is to trust your body and learn to revel in its erotic animal energy; to listen to the sweet seductive music in the
wind.. Pan told us that we are all part of the web of life that is connected to all of Nature and that we all
need to look for the spark of Pan in every Man. So I come to you my dears friends and Followers
another Post kinda erotic in away.. hehehe. I think in away we all have a bit of Pan in all of us. We just don't want to let it out. in this would it isn't proper. In the anicent world it seemed more free and open at times then
now so up tight and stressssss!!!!

Nine Tailed Fox Japanese Myth Creature-

Nine Tailed Fox Japanese Mythical Creature-
Kitsune-
I thought I would do another Mythical Creature on the
Japanese Culture, do to that my son has been playing one of his favorite
Video Game of Naruto facing Evil version of Nine Tails
Video Games Naruto who faces the Creature both as a
newborn with his parents/ and later as a
young boy to learns to defeat the Nine Tailed Fox; basis on one of the Japanese Mythical Creatures, but I thought there was much more
to that Mythical Creature than that. So I decided to do a post on this interesting Japanese Mythical Creature-
The Creature is the Nine Tailed Fox in the Japanese Culture:
In Asian mythology the Nine tailed fox is described as being a cunning creature. It is said it will grow
nine tails as it ages. The ninth tail is the highest number of tails that the fox can grow.
In the Culture it is said, that the fox has been known to been a trickster by taking the form of a
beautiful young woman, like that 'a bride before her wedding day'.  It has been found that in
one account that the Fox transformed himself into a young prince to deduce a maiden. This was the
one account that was recorded when where it turned into a male. However, even though it takes the
appearance of a human, there is always something noticeably fox-like about the transformation of the Nine
tailed Fox spirit.  In some pictures, the Fox will trans formed fox will keeps its tails exposed. In others , the woman's shadow will take the form of the fox.
Apparently there are similarities between the Asian culture and the Kitsune.  What this means is
Kitsune from Japanese folklore and are Japanese Foxes
Kitsune are from Japanese folklore and are Japanese foxes:
A Kitsune can have up to nine tails, depending on its age, wisdom and his power. The only way
to kill a Kitsune is to cut off all nine of its tails, as it is said that one of the tails is its main tail and the
source of all is its power. So not knowing which tail is the main one, one would have to
cut off all its tail to kill it. It is said the One, five, seven and nine tails are the most common numbers
in folklore stories in the Japaneses Culture. When a Kitsune gains its ninth tail, its fur becomes white or golden.
Now a kitsune is also a shapeshifter too and will usually reach this at the age of 100years old. At this age of an 100 years old the Nine tail will also learn the ability to take on a human form, thus they have to be a fox for a hundred years before they can shapeshift from a fox to a human back again to their normal form the nine tail fox.
When he reaches 100 years, he can duplicate any other human being that he choose too. In other words he can shapeshift into the look-a-likes of many different people. This could be either male or female, but he usually take on the forms of the young Japanese girls, beautiful Japanese women and older men. This is what make the Nine Tailed Fox so dangerous. You never really know if the fox's spirit has taken over
someone you know. The only hint of the fox, on the persons body is so minuet that it is almost impossible to tell if the Kitsune has taken over someone you love. This is one of the parts that makes the Nine tail very dangerous and sometimes Evil.
The Kitsune are believed to possess superior intelligence, long life and magical powers. They have a type of
spiritual entity and the word kitsune is often translated as fox spirit.
Zenko Fox
However, this doesn't mean that Kitsune are ghosts, nor that they are fundamentally different from regular foxes. Because the word spirit is used to reflect a state of knowledge or enlightenment, all long-lived foxes gain their supernatural abilities.  I hope I haven't lost you so far . I know this Nine Tail is a bit more difficult to understand than others Mythical Creatures. But I do understand that some of the creatures that i do may or may not be more confusing.. Yet in the end result I have found that it becomes a very interesting piece of writing:o)
Onward- There are really two common Kitsune. The [Zenko善狐]. which mean the [GOOD FOXES].
These foxes basically are benevolent, celestial foxes which are associated with the God Inari; they are sometimes simply called Inari Foxes.
Now, on the other side of the coin you have the [Yako
Yako Foxs
狐].
which is literally called field foxes, and also called nogitsune; These foxes tend to be very mischievous and even malicious, evil.
For an example, a ninko is an invisible fox spirit that a human beings can only perceive when it possesses
them. The Kitsune has thirteen types of supernatural abilities that he possesses. Besides supernatural abilities, they also have the ability to see and hear anything that happens anywhere in the world  Other supernatural abilities that the Kitsune include are possession  of mouths or tails that generate fire or lighting [ known as kitsune-bi or fox-fire], wilful manifestation in the dreams of others mainly humans, flight invisibility and the creation of illusions so elaborated as to be almost indistinguishable from reality. Some tales even speak of kitsune with even greater powers of being able to bend time and space, drive people mad or even take fantasise shapes such as a tree of incredible height  or a second moon in the sky. Some of the other powers they have & possessions they have are called
Kitsune balls or Star Balls.
Yako-field fox
These are what you could call Nine Tailed or the Kitsunes prized possession. What they are simply is a small white-gold ball of light if you will. It is in a since their life force in a ball form. And if you can get your hands
on a Nine-Tail or Kitsune Star ball, You would be able to control the KITSUNE OR NINE-TAIL FOX  AND MAKE IT DO YOUR BIDDING..
But with power there is responsibility, especially with the Nine-Tailed or Kitsune. If he is been stripped of his freedom and has lost his Kitsune Star ball you could be in serous danger. Because you could be sure that the Kitsune will get his star ball back and when he does there will be serious repercussions for you to deal with
when he has it. I am sure the Nine-Tail will become the Yako- field fox. Which is quite malicious & Evil.
Other Kitsune have characteristics reminiscent of an vampires or even a succubi and will feed on the life or spirit of the human beings that they have over come. generally through sexual contact.  Besides being able to feed of their human host, there are believe it or not Thirteen different kinda Kitsune/ each of these correspond with a type of Element too; Heaven or Celestial, Void or Dark, Wind, Earth,Fire, River, Ocean, Mountain, Forest, Thunder, Time & Sound, One of the most important things to a Kitsune is freedom.
They do not fare well at all! being locked away, and do not like to be forced to do something they don't want to do. Doing something like that would be likely to get you killed if they are freed [the Kitsune]. Kitsune loved to play tricks. They like
take things and hide them from people or just about anything to piss  humans off.
In some stories it is said the the nine-tail have a great difficulty hiding their tail when they take on the human
form; looking for the tail, perhaps when the fox gets drunk or careless, is a common method of discerning the
creatures true nature. although one must be very careful when one does this. Variants may also show when they take a human form through such traits as the coating of the fox's fine hair! the fox-shaped shadow or even a reflection that will show its true form. Other ways is in the face of the human females that they take as host. The Nine-tails prefer to pick females who have a narrow face with close-set eyes thin eyebrows and high cheekbones. Traditionally, this facial structure is considered attractive and in some tales ascribe to foxes in human form.
Nine-Tails have a fear and hatred of dogs even while in the human form, and some become so rattled by the
presence of the dog that they revert to their fox form and will flee.
Kitsunetsuki- what this means is literally the state of being possessed by a Nine-Tail fox. The victim is always it seems now after doing this post a young woman, whom the fox enters beneath her fingernails or through her breasts. In some cases the victims facial expression are said to have change in such away that they resemble those of a fox.
Exorcism, were often performed at an Inari shrine to induce a Nine-Tail to leave its host if its possessing someone. In the past, when such measures would failed or a priest was into available  victims of the
kitsunetsuki were beaten or badly burned in hopes of forcing the Nine-Tail to leave the body.
Entire families were ostracized by their communities after a member of the family was thought to be
possessed by an Kitsune.
In Japan, Kitsunetsuki was noted as a disease as early as the Heian period and remained a common
diagnosis for mental illness until the early 20th century. Possession was the explanation for the abnormal behavior displayed by the afflicted individuals who had the Kitsune within them. In the later 19th century,

Dr. Shunichi Shimanura noted that physical diseases that caused fever were often considered by the
kitsunetsuki.
This belief has lost favor, over the years, but the stories of the fox possession still appeared in the tabloid
pressed and popular media. One notable occasion involved allegations that members of the Aum Shinrikyo
cult had been possessed.
In Medicine, the kitsunetsuki is an ethnic psychosis unique to the Japaneses Culture. Those who suffer
from the condition believe they are possessed by a kitsunetsuki or nine-tailed fox.
Symptoms include cravings for rice or sweet beans, listlessness, restlessness and aversion to eye contact.
Kitsunetsuki is similar to but distinct from clinical lycanthropy.
It is said that other kitsune can use their magic for the benefit of their host as long as the human beings treat them with respect or its the Yokai Fox. Not the Yako Fox!
It seems in the day of the samurai. These families were often reputed to share similar arrangements with
a kitsune, but these foxes were considered zenko and would use their magic as sign of prestige. Abandoned
homes in japan were common haunts for kitsune.
The Kitsune will commonly portray as an lover. Usually what has happened in these old ancient stories is a
young Japanese male and a kitsune who has taken the form of a japanese young woman. The kitsune is usually the seductress, but these ancient stories are more often romantic in nature.
Typically what happens the young man will unknowing marry the fox, who proves a devoted wife.
The man eventually discovers the fox's true nature, and then the fox-wife is forced to leave him.
Although is some cases, the husband will wake as if from a dream, filthy, disoriented and far from home.
He must then return to confront his abandoned family in shame. And in the Japanese Tradition that can be very difficult. In some stories, it tells of fox-wives bearing children. When such a progeny are human, they possess special they possess special physical or supernatural qualities that often pass to their own children.
I even heard of stories of kitsune's marrying one another. And this is called kitsune no yomeiri or the Kitsune's Wedding. Which is referred  to a folktale wedding ceremony between the creatures being held during such conditions -Rain falling from a clear sky - a Sunshower. The event is considered a good omen, but the kitsune will seek revenge on any uninvited guest, as it is depicted in Dreams.
There is an Korea Fox known as the Gumiho. In another post I will cover this interesting Creature..
I hope that you will find this to be an interesting mythical Creature of Japanese Culture.
I found it quite interesting although it was a bit confuessing at times too.
