DragonsFaeries&theUnseen
MOSS PEOPLE-
May be found in dense woodlands in the summer in
Germanic Lands and Swizerland. They are beautiful
creatures with Butterfly wings & lithe bodies.
Other names for them are Butterfly faeries &flying leaves.
They are shy of people and it is not known how to contact them.
But they are good luck to have around. So try calling to to them
in a friendly voice and offer them some fresh milk
.

Fall is upon US!

'Autumn Equinox '
September 23, 2014
Fall is upon US!
Autumn Equinox-
The Trees are starting to turn to their leaves to Golds, Yellows, Rusts, Reds and even Purples.  These are the last days to gather your vegetable gardens that are still baring fruits, herbs and much more... Like your
tomato's, peppers, jalapeno peppers & herbs of all kinds too. Being that its September 23, 2014 Autumn Equinox; This is the time of year when all the fields and valleys are filled with pumpkins, squash, and corn stalks. Yes today is the first day of Autumn Equinox or the first day of Fall. of September 2014. The leaves are changing hear in Washington Seattle where I live. I hope that you have a wonderful first day of Fall. Although our summer days are at a end; with the falling leaves of fall. This is also a beautiful time of the year too! Besides the changes of the leaves in many parts of the worlds and here in the states of the US, we have the wonderful nature wonders to look forward too. I have always loved both the summer and the fall myself. And some of the things that I look forward in the fall that arent' in the summer are; the brisk cool nights, listening to the wind blowing thru the trees at night/day, the sound of the leaves blowing across the yard, the cracking of the warm fireplace, hot cider, hot-chocolate,scent of warm sweats/scarfs, and pumpkin cooking in the oven all October. This Fall I will get to really enjoy the outside of the Autumn Equinox which I am really looking forward too. Mostly because as it turns into the winter months. It gets harder for me as the nights get longer and the days get longer and darker. For Us folks with depression it can be hard to deal with. Anyways this weekend I spend outside working on my porch getting it ready for the fall season - kinda like fall/cleaning. We also got a few nice items for a neighbor that will make the time on my porch even more nice during the fall season and even the winter season much more pleasant too. So I can sit back and read a book, knit which I love too do too which I don't know if I have told you all that I love too do too [knitting scarfs] and watching my hummingbird Rosy that stays with me all

Tips From the Garden~Pumpkins

Tips From the Garden~
Pumpkins
Enormous
Pumpkins

For today's Saturdays Gardens Post I thought I would talk about Pumpkins!
Why? Well on Monday the Sept 15 of 2014 I went to the Washington State Fair
with my husband and son.Besides having a great time; which I will write about the day
on another post later. I saw these 'Enomorms Pumpkins'.
For the coming Fall of October, it seems that I have seen alot of pumpkins
these days. Even In the fields that are all around where I live, in the valley. There are full
of pumpkins these last couple of weeks. I noticed the corn maze that they have every
year nearby where I live. The corn stalks are starting to get taller and taller; and the
sign is up too. I remember last year my son having fun going thru that maze although it got dark fast and they had to help him and a couple of other teenagers that were lost in the dark maze with flashlights. He still had a great time. This year If he decides to go thru the maze again we are going to make sure to
give are son a flashlight.
Its interesting how folks who do his during the pumpkin season more seriously with the
growth of their huge pumpkins or 1emormous pumpkin. These pumpkins can get
huge, but what I understand its all in the seeds.
At the left is a normal
pumpkin seed at the right
is the super size

Some of the oldest world records that I could find were back in the 1857. This was a
Southeast England grower and his pumpkin weight in at 245 pounds.
In 1893 there was a farmer from Goderich, Ontario in which he produced a
pumpkin weighing in at 365 pounds for the Chicago Worlds Fair.
That same Farmer; William Warnock again seven years later in
Paris entree weight in a 400 pound pumpkin. Then again William Warnock
wins again at the Worlds Fair at St. Louis in 1904 with a pumpkin weighing in
at 403 pounds.
It seems that the Farmer William Warnock would hold his title for more than
70 years!!! Warnocks recorded was finally broken in 1976, but from what I found
it didn't show any dates, or who this Pennsylvania pumpkin grower was? So in my opinion
Warnock's recorded wasn't broken till an Canadian , by the name of
Howard Dill who finally was able to break the 70year record!
Dill got the attention to the Guinness book of World Records in 1981 for his
493.5 pound pumpkin.
After that the Giant Pumpkin Growing Clubs Began!
Today its not just pumpkins! its all kinds of vegetables! Although the
pumpkins have gotten much larger!
Thomas Andres a Squash Expert had the first 2,000 pound PUMPKIN!
In 2008 I found Steve Connolly and his PUMPKINS tip the scales at 1,900!
and his seeds fetch up to $500.
In 2009 a Schoolteacher - Christy Harp had her Pumpkin! weighting in at 1,725!
In 2012 at the Topsfield Fair in USA in September a farmer Ronwallace
in Rhode Island had a PUMPKIN WEIGHTING IN AT 2,032!
DISPLAY IT AT THE TOPSFIELD FAIR
The last one since were upon the season where
there are lots all over the world hoping their PUMPKIN
will be the NEXT BIGGEST!
IN October 11, 2013, Tim Mathison brought in his
Pumpkin at the record to 2032 pounds.
So It seems that 2,032 is the weight to bet!
I will come back to this post for fun to see if they broke
the record in the year 2014 so stay tuned!
I hope you Enjoyed my story this time in
Tips From the Garden in Pumkins
HAPPY FALL!
