The Goddess Cerridwen

The Goddess Cerridwen
Cerridwen was a Welsh Goddess, Mother Crone and Witch.  Keeper of the Cauldron in which she brewed a powerful potion that bestowed the Poet who later became Bard the Talisman.

The Goddess Cerridwen - The Silverwitch-
She is called by many different names. Some of these names are Cerridwen; Celtic Goddess of death and transformation, The Silverwitch, The Celitc Goddess of witchcraft, Dark Moon Goddess, The Gain Goddess & The Great Mother to be a few...
Cerridwen lived on island in the middle of a lake with Tegid, and  her two children. Her daughter whose name was Creidwy, was truly a beautiful child while her son, who was known as Afagdu was perhaps the ugliest child to ever grace the earth.
Like any other loving and caring mother, Cerridwen wanted only the best for her children. It was obvious that Creidwy would do well in life. Unfortunately, Cerridwen knew all too well that her son looks would only act as a detriment in his life.

So in order to counteract his physical appearance, Cerridwen began to brew a magic formula which would give her son all the knowledge; wisdom and prophecy in the world. Making her son the most Brilliant and Inspired of all man in the world. Cerridwen continued to work on her formula in her cauldron gathering herbs from the forest for 1year & one day. She did this all for the love of her son, simply to make three precious drops of this liquid potion in her cauldron. It would take over a year to make because it was a powerful potion. And it took a powerful witch to find the ingredients in the forest to make the potion work. During the year Cerridwen had trusted a young boy named Gwion Bach to watch over the cauldron & stir it when it was needed. The boy had basically lived and made camp in the forest where Cerridwen had hidden her cauldron, where it brewed for a year and a half. This way she could come and go as she pleased. So when she would go into the forest and look for the rare and special herbs, that were needed during the years time, she could very easily get them quickly to her cauldron.
But faith would turn on our dear Goddess. One day while Gwion Bach was stirring the Magick brew it happened.
While Cerridwen was out in the deep forest gathering the last of the herbs for her precious potion; 3 drops of liquid potion accidentally flew out of the boiling cauldron and onto the fingers of the young boy Gwion, who had been faithfully stirring it for a year & almost a day.

As the boiling potion flew upon Gwion's fingers, his automatically  responded as anyone one's would be -  he quickly put his fingers into his mouth to ease the pain. Of course not realizing that the powerful potion was already on his fingers. This potion  with just one drop, by a most powerful witch it would change anyone who had put their lips to it, with just one small drop.
The Betrayal-
Well you could only image the anger that Cerridwen felt when at that very moment when she sense her potion being used by Gwion instead of her son. After a long year's work of gathering herbs in the deep forest, and getting the all the right herbs to make the potion just right!
The Goddess realized that her beloved son, whom she had created the powerful potion for! Would never be
used for him. The potion had accidentally ended up in the boy, that had been caring for her cauldron all this time. But that didn't make any difference to Cerridwen. To The Goddess it was done on purpose, it really didn't matter the deed was done and VENGEANCE WAS ON!

VENGEANCE WAS ON!-
Cerridwen immediately began to purse the young boy Gwion with a Vengeance! Know one would want to be in his shoes, even if he had the  powerful potion within him. Besides being a very caring  mother, she was a very powerful witch and a shape-shifter too.
Now as for Gwion, his whole world began to change very quickly once the magic formula got into his system. Which didn't take too long. It happened only in a matter of minutes. Suddenly he was able to hear everything that went on in the world. In fact in that one brief instant, he was able to understand all the secrets of the universe as well as the knowledge of the past, the present and the future. For the young boy it was an amazing feeling to have, but he also could feel another presence, this of course was the anger of the Goddess Cerridwen. He could also sense her wrath. So his new sudden perception made him keenly aware of where the Goddess was too!
The Race was On!-
So the race was on-
The boy realized with his new powers he too had the power to shape-shift into anything he wanted just
like the Goddess Cerridwen.
So he decided to change into a hare thinking they run very fast and he needed to get away. He went across the fields as a hare. While The Goddess Cerridwen was much more powerful in magic than the boy even with the potion she had made-
So Cerridwen decided to change herself into a black greyhound dog and chase him [the hare -Gwion] into a stream. Gwion seeing the stream ahead, he turned into a fish, but Cerridwen then changed into an Otter.
Rising from the stream was a bird, yes the boy changed himself into a bird and took flight out of the stream, but Cerridwen didn't stop there! Oh! No... She
became a hawk and swooped over him.
Then Gwion finally decided to shapeshift into a piece of grain of wheat, thinking Cerridwen would never find
him in a barn. Well of course the poor boy was wrong and the Goddess found her big moment to eat the piece of grain as a black hen. The seed took root inside her. Nine months later she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy.
There was little surprise, and not doubt about the fact that the child that was born to Cerridwen was actually Gwion Bach. It was however, the Gwion that he had previously been when he was nothing more than a very young child.
The story doesn't end here...
There is More!
Cerridwen  soon made the decision that enough was enough and that all the intrigue finally had to come to an end. She was, however unable to find it within her heart to kill the child. So she placed Gwion Bach the infant inside a leather pouch and then set the pouch a float in the sea. Luck was definitely on Gwion 's side.
Because Elphin, the son of a wealthy squire, discovered the pouch with the sleeping Gwion Bach inside.
The Life of Bard the Taliesman begins-
Elphin and his wife happened to be childless, so they decided to adopt the baby boy and because he was such a beautiful child, they named him Talisman, which's means "Beautiful Brow".
Even at an extremely early age Talieman had the most wonderful gift for poetry and when he grew into a man, the poet Taliesman became known as far and wide as the greatest poet to ever come out of Wales.
This tale of the people of Wales was early to identify with because it's dealing's with Death and rebirth which is part of life.
I found a certain sorrow and understanding for the Goddess Cerridwen, being a mother myself. I truly could understand her pain, sorrow and anger to some level. Yet through it all this; Goddess, Mother, and very Powerful witch that had great compassion for life and for even the child that took everything that was dear to her.
Cerridwen has taken on the role of the Crone in the typical Welsh Triple Goddess Trinity. She has also been known to have dark prophetic powers and since her Totem animal is that of a sow, she is easily Identified as a Goddess of the Underworld with all the dark and frightening powers that are associated with it.

It is well known that in ancient Wales the Goddess Cerridwen, took the Totem animal that of the Sow. In this shape she is that of the hag and is also the devonver, Scathach, the Shadow one, took this shape upon herself when she appeared to Fionn Mac Cumhal. {Later I might post another view of the Goddess] that I have in some of my Celtic books.
She was also easily identified as a Goddess of the underworld with all the dark and frightening powers that are associated with it.
Like many other Celtic Goddess - Cerridwen had two children one child representing darker aspects and the other representing the light. Cerridwens daughter Creidwy represented everything that was beautiful and light while her son Afagda represented everything that was not.
Cerridwen is also known as the keeper of the Cauldron of the Underworld, from which Divine inspiration and knowledge flow in the Ancient Celtic Tradition. The cauldron is the central part of their religious mystery and regeneration which grows deep within  the womb of the Goddessess.
Although Cerridwen may only be one out of many Dark Goddessess, she has one particular aspect which makes her truly unique.

Cerridwen is the womb of potential from which all manifestations flow and because of that she is believed to represent the wheel of Life-
The beginning - the end - And the beginning once again-
People seem to have no trouble picturing the Goddess Cerridwen standing there, strirring her cauldron, and brewing within it life and death. Stirring her cauldron is not something Cerridwen just happens to do, nor is it even something that she chooses to do. Rather, the act of Cerridwen stirring her cauldron is one of necessary obligation. She has no choice in the matter, nor would she ever desire one, because by Cerridwen
Constantly stirring the souls of the dead, it is then and only then that rebirth will come forth from her cauldron.
She has also appeared as the Dark Hag. It is truly unfortunate that people all to frequently misunderstand Cerridwen and the amazing regenerative powers that she has because that she has all of these powers, is what causes people to fear her.
These are many of the names that have been tagged to the Goddess-

Fly Litttle Fairies-A poem Written by Cynthia my dear Friend-oo)

Fly little Fairies

Fly little fairies fly far far away

On emerald green wings they fly

In the bright and golden sunlight above.

Over the forests and glades of green

Over the hills and valleys do they fly

Momentarily they stop at the lake of blue

And sing and dance playful over the calm waters

weary of their long journey and play

They settle down to sleep.

oh sweet maiden of the night is sweeping in

with darking silence and the twinkling stars above

We're glad you are near dear maiden,  while we lay in our beds

to rest our heads without fear of harm

we are safe and protected in your arms dear maiden

as we watch the light of dusk warning to darkness

Dreams of joy and goodwill  upon us does creep.

I wish a goodnight sis, sweet dreams of faedragons, gnomes, and elves all dancing and singing
playing their elf size instruments in a garden of beauty and I will join you for some of that rainbow stew:o)

Ouija Board

Ouija Board-

None If we believed in the paranormal or supernatural, but
the Ouija board Seemed like a fun way to pass the time. We were all in our early Twenties, silly, little flighty, and definitely obsessed with the Male species.. After asking a few questions regarding our current Crushes, we tried to summon a ghost.

Disappointed Silence reigned over the room for a good ten minutes before us Finally gave up. We put in a movie and zoned out, the effects of our Sleepover dragging us down.

Suddenly, We all jerked awake as the TV flicked off. Instead of a black screen, The face of a young teenage girl appeared on the screen, dripping Blood from her empty eye sockets. Mary screamed and I clutched at Brittany's arm, and then the four of us made a mad rush to the Bedroom.

The Calmest of all of us, Sara told us it was probably just nothing- Overactive imaginations late at night. No one believed her; she  Didn't even believe herself. But it was the best we could do. Huddled Under blankets, we repeated childhood fairy tales until the Comforting words lulled us to sleep.

A Tapping on the window jolted me out of my sleep. I shook my friends Awake, and in response to their question, I told them I'd heard Something tapping. Brittany was the only one brave enough to slither Out from under the covers and go to the window. She pulled back the Curtains...

.... And There was the girl, methodically tapping on the window, staring Hollowly at us. Brittany screamed and pointed to the door, looking Over our shoulders as we lay crouched with our mouths rounded in Silent screeches. Blood was slowly oozing under the door, inching Toward our blankets. I grabbed the Brittany's hand and pulled her Forcibly back into the mess of covers and people.

For An hour, we huddle together, eyes turned inwards so we wouldn't have To see the terrible things all around us.

"It's All a dream," we all murmured, over and over. "It's a Dream."
We Were too exhausted not to sleep. The sun crept over the bed, nudging us awake around 9a.m I sat up and glanced over at the door, but there Was no sign of the blood. With sighs of relief, we wandered Downstairs, laughing and joking about the nightmare we'd all shared.

We Stopped short in the living room....
It Was a true chaos......

The room was trashed: books were strewn across the carpet, some with Their pages torn out; the vases were smashed into the glass table, which Was smashed in turn into the carpet; the Ouija board was gone. SCRAWLED ON THE WALL IN A BRIGHT RE-INK- we knew right away it was Blood - were the words, "YOU SUMMONED ME AND I CAME,"

I Sold the house not long afterward, hoping to purge my memories to The terrible spirit we summoned that night - but still, ten years Later, it haunts me..

Personal Experience

My Advise "DON'T EVER USE A OUIJA BOARD EVER! I WAS IN A SITUATION WHEN I WAS IN MY TWENTIES AND AT A PARTY. I WANTED FRIENDS SO BAD THAT I WENT TO A PARTY OF MOSTLY PEOPLE I DIDN'T KNOW BUT I DIDN'T CARE AT THE TIME UNTIL THEY DECIDED TO PLAY THE CAME FIRST BLOODING MARY AND I WOULDN'T DO THAT WITH ANOTHER FEW GIRLS SO I LUCKED OUT ON THAT GAME. THE GIRL IN CHARGE DID TEASE US, HOWEVER, THE EVENING GOT MUCH WORST. THATS WHEN THEY  PULLED OUT THE OUIJA BOARD. AT THIS POINT, I WANTED NO PART OF THIS. I  HEARD TERRIBLE TRUE STORIES OF BOTH YOUNG AND OLD HAVING REALLY BAD EXPERICESS WITH THE OUIJA BOARD AND ONCE YOU MESS WITH ONE IT NEVER LEAVES YOU FOR LIFE. I LEFT. UNFORTUNATE PORTAL HOLE~

UNFORTUNATE PORTAL HOLE:
This An incident happened to my younger brother back in October, around Halloween 1981. It was an incident that has left him mentally impaired to this day 2011. We don't know exactly what happened. Before that day, my brother was full of life, very outgoing, friendly, and talkative to all his friends and family. The person you see now is a quiet, withdrawn, nervous soul; a shadow of his former self.
Today he lives with my mom because it's hard for him to concentrate and perform simple chores like dressing himself properly. I miss my brother -- the brother I use to know.
What occurred that day long ago is something out of the ordinary. We were visiting our cousins down in the water, California. My brother, cousin, and I went out exploring behind the house . We headed toward and old single - story abandoned brick building that was used at one time for storing equipment. It was a long building that was divided into four rooms, with no windows in any of the rooms, only one door in each of the rooms, which were separated from the others by an interior brick wall.
The doors were unlocked so we checked out each room to see what we could find in the rooms. Turns out all the rooms were empty. My brother was having fun as usual, making up stories about ghosts and drawing pictures on the walls with chalk.
Later on, I told him to go back to the first room. It seems I misplaced mine comb; I couldn't find it. I can still see him walking down toward the front of the building. Like I said, it was long and it took him a while before he got to the front and entered the first room.
As we waited for my young brother, my cousin and I sat down on some grass next to a ditch away from the building. That's when my  comb fell out of my shirt pocket I yelled to my brother that I found my comb and to come join us . There was no reply.
After around ten minutes had passed, I called out to him again, Still, there was no reply. This time the both of us called out to him! Still nothing, so we started walking back toward the brick building.
Suddenly, To my amazement , my brother emerges from the very last room of the Building! There is no way he could have entered that room without me Seeing HIM! I remember he was crying with a confused look on his Face. Then he collapsed to the ground. I was so scared for my Brother, I didn't know what to do to help him....
My Cousin and I went over and picked him up. I asked him what happened; I asked him how he got to the last room. HE WENT INTO A SORT OF A MILD SEIZURE AND SAID SOMETHING ABOUT A HOLE -- A HOLE ON THE FLOOR THAT WAS GETTING BIGGER AND BIGGER --- AND A HOLE IN THE WALL!
As He was saying this, he was shaking and crying uncontrollably! I tried To calm him down. Then he went silent, he became still, with a Far away stare in his eyes and that was it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
From Then on, he became this reclusive, isolated person. We took my Brother back to my cousin's house and tried to explain what happened. My mother was very upset. My cousin and I went back to the building And checked out the rooms. We found nothing unusual. I MISS MY BROTHER....
This One is a little creepy... It has a lot of unexplained events and even After they go back to check the rooms to see if there is something Unusual , that could have turned bad too. There has to be some very Bad entity within those walls and the girls were just lucky he wasn't Around at the time.... It seems that there's a partial hole to another Realm of evil that can be open at will my an evil spirit that lives Within the walls of the brick house.. It's sad that the brother Happened to run into him.

The Vampire Origin Story of Many!

The Vampire Origin Story of Many!
This is a Vampire Love Story that started it all.
In this version of the Vampire story, It is about a love
Story Of a young adventure named Ambrogio, who was born and
Raised In Italy.
He Had always longed to travel to Greece to have his fortune
Told By the Oracle of Delphi. When he was an adult, he got on a boat an Sailed to the western edge of Greece which was near Astakos.
Ambrogio Then traveled east until he eventually reached the city of Delphi.
When He reached Delphi, the home of the great temple of Apollo, the Sun God.
It Was also the home of the Pythia, better known as the Oracles. The Pythia would sit In a chamber within the temple and speak of the prophecies, inspired By Apollo, too Those who came to seek the Oracle's wisdom.
When Ambrogio finally arrived at the temple, he went to speak to the Pythia, The Pythia, whose words have been often cryptic, said only a few words:
"The Curse, The moon, The blood will run."
He Couldn't sleep that night. He stayed awake outside of the temple, Pondering the meaning of the Pythia's words. As the sun rose in the Morning he realized that he had not Slept.
As He walked back toward the town he was a beautiful woman dressed in White robes Walking to the temple. He ran over to her and introduced himself.
Her name was Selene and she was a maiden of the temple. Her sister was the Oracle, And so Selene tended To the temple and took care of her sister while in her entranced State.
For The next few days every morning Ambrogio met Selene at dawn before Sheentered the temple. They soon fell in love.
On His last day in Greece, Ambrogio asked Selene to marry him and return With him to Italy. She agreed. He said he would make the preparations Then meet her at dawn the next morning at their meeting spot outside The temple.
Apollo, The sun-god, had been watching. He, himself, had taken a liking to The beautiful Selene And was enraged that Ambrogio would come to his temple and take one off His maidens away.
At Sunset that night, Apollo appeared to Ambrogio and cursed him so that From that day forth a mere touch of Apollo's sunlight would burn Ambrogio skin.
Ambrogio Was distraught. He was set to leave with Selene in the morning, but he Would not be able to meet her at sunrise as he promised because of the Curse.
Having know Where, else to turn, he ran into a cave that led to Hades for Protection. Hades, God of The underworld, listened to his tale and made him a deal - if he Could steal the silver bow of Artemis and bring it back, Hades would Grant him and Selene protection in the underworld.
The Deal specified that Hades would give Ambrogio a magical wooden Bow and 11 arrows to hunt with. He was to offer his hunting trophies to Artemis in order to gain in her favor and steal her favorite silver bow.
As Collateral, Ambrogio had to leave his soul in Hades until he returned With the silver bow. Should he return the silver bow, he would have To live in Hades forever, never to return to Selene, Having no other Choice, Ambrogio Agreed.
Ambrogio Had no way to contact Selene. He had parchments, but no writing Implements so he took his bow and arrow and killed a swan. Using its feather as a Pen, and its blood as The ink, he wrote her a note explaining that he could not meet with her  but would find away for them to be together. He left the note in their meeting place and ran off to find a place to hide from the sunlight.
Naturally, Selene was devastated when she found the note, but she kept working at the temple as she did not want to anger Apollo any further.
The next morning, Selene went back to the meeting place, but once again Ambrogio was not there. She saw another  piece of parchment  with writing in blood on it.
It was  a love poem form Ambrogio Before morning  on of the for 44 days, Ambrogio slew another swan and used it's  blood to write Selene a love poem. After draining the blood from the white swan and taking a single  feather, from the swan,  he offered the body of the swan as a tribute  to Artemis, the Goddess of hunting and the moon and also her sister  to Apollo. He hoped that even if he could not steal her silver bow, she would be honored be the tribute and would be able to
convince her brother Apollo to remove the curse. On the 45th night, Ambrogio had only one arrow left. He shot it at a swan and missed, the arrow went sailing into the distance.
He had neither the blood to writhe Selene poem nor the swan to sacrifice to Artemis. He fell to the ground and wept.
Seeing how good of a hunter and how dedicated of a follower
Ambrogio had been, Artemis came down to him. He begged Artemis to let him borrow  her bow and an arrow so he could kill one last bird and leave one final note to Selene.
Artemis took  pity on him and agreed to let him borrow her silver bow and an arrow.
He took the bow, and in desperation, ran to the cave that led to Hades. Artemis realized what was happening and cast her
own curse on Ambrogio. The curse caused all silver to burn his skin. So when Ambrogio dropped the silver bow and fell to the ground in terrible pain.
Artemis was furious at his deceit, but he begged her for forgiveness. He explained the deal he was forced to make with Hades, his curse by Apollo and his love for Selene. He apologized profusely and swore that he had no other choice.
Artemis took pity on him again and decided to give him one
last chance. She offered to make him a great hunter, almost as great as she was, with the speed and strength of a God and fangs with which to drain the blood of the beasts to write his poems.
In exchange for his immortality, he would have to agree to a deal. He and Selene would have to escape Apollo temple and worship only Artemis forever. The catch was that Artemis was a virgin goddess and all of her follower had to remain
chaste and unmarried, so Ambrogio was never allowed to touch Selene again.
They could never even kiss, touch, or have children.
Ambrogio agreed. At least this way he and Selene could be together. He Killed another swan and left Selene a note telling her to meet him on a ship at the docks.
before dawn the next morning, she saw the note and ran way before Apollo could notice.
When Selene arrived at the dock she found Ambrogio's ship and met him down in the hull.
There was a wooden coffin with a note on it, telling her to order the ship's captain to set sail, and to open the coffin only after the sun had set. She did as the note said, and after the sunset she opened the coffin to find Ambrogio alive and well.
The couple sailed to Ephesus, where they lived in a cave during the day and worshiped Artemis at her grand temple every night. They lived happily together for many years,
never touching, never kissing, never having children.
After a number of years, Ambrogio's immortality allowed him to stay young, but Selene continued to age as a mortal, She finally fell ill and was on her deathbed. Ambrogio was
distraught, knowing that he would not join Selene in the afterlife because his soul still resided in Hades.
At night, he went into the woods and found a white swan swimming alone in a small lake. He killed the swan and offered it to Artemis begging for her to make Selene
immortal so they could stay together forever.
Artemis appeared to him. Thankful for his years of dedication and worship, she made him one last deal. Artemis told Ambrogio that he could touch Selene just once - to drink her
blood.
Doing so would kill her mortal body , but from then on, her blood mixed with his could create eternal life for any who drink of it. If he did this, Artemis would see to it that
they stayed together forever.
Ambrogio wanted to refuse, but after telling Selene what happened, Selene begged him to do it. After much convincing, he bit her neck and took her blood into his body.
AS HE SET HER LIMP BODY DOWN, SELENE BEGAN TO RADIATE WITH LIGHT, AND RAISE UP TO THE SKY. AMBROGIO WATCHED AS SELENE'S GLOWING SPIRIT LIFT TO MEET ARTEMIS AT THE MOON. WHEN SHE ARRIVED, THE MOON LIT UP WITH A BRILLIANT LIGHT.
 Lovers
SELENE BECAME THE GODDESS OF MOONLIGHT, AND EVERY NIGHT SHE WOULD REACH DOWN WITH HER RAYS OF LIGHT TO THE EARTH AND FINALLY TOUCH HER BELOVED AMBROGIO AS WELL AS ALL OF THEIR CHILDREN - THE NEWLY CREATED VAMPIRES WHO CARRIED THE BLOOD OF AMBROGIO AND SELENE, TOGETHER.......
