Sylphs Fairies

  Sylphs Fairies
Sylphs Fairies
Sylphs are spirits of the Air. Their Element has the highest vibratory rate of the four Elments - Air -Earth-Fire-Water. They have long life up to hunderds of years, often reaching one thousand and never looking like they have aged a day older. They live high on the mountain peaks. The leader of these Sylphs Faeries is a being called 'Paralda who is said to dwell on the highest mountain of the Earth. Some have said that the Sylphs fairies often assume human form, but this is only for a very short periods of time.  Sometimes their voices are heard in the wind or their airy forms are felt in passing through, but they are rarely seen. These Sylphs faeries can range in size, meaning that they can be as large as a human or described as almost transparent, very small, and winged or alternatively as tall with long feathered wings, large, hawk-like eyes, and angular faces. As I said before these Sylph's are usually seen with wings, but transparent. They look like cherubs probably because of their connection to the air, which is associated with the mental aspect, one of their functions is to help the human race receive inspiration. These Fairy Sylphs are drawn to those who use their minds, particlarly those who are creative with their minds. It seems that over the thousands of years the Sylphs fairies have had a problem with caring on their legacy in the manner of bearing their own fae young. They are an ancient and very proud group of Fairies and their society is dying out. It is for this very reason that these divine faeries if you will, come down of their mountain tops and rejoined changeling society in large numbers. It would be a very sad day if these Sylphs fairies would to die because they help the human race receive inspiration. If they were to die, at least they would be remembered for the honour, glory and majest that is inherent to any of their decends. These Sylphs Fairies are mostly soliary fairies and are content to soar the skies with the eagles. These Sylphs Faires care little about the doing or polities of the ground faireis or even the elves and they wil rarely interfere with the changling society. The only time that they may assocaitat with the changling society is like I had metioned before as their own socitey is dieing out and they had to assoiete with them. These Fairies rarely do associtiate with other type of fairies, but when they do, they usually form bonds that will last a life time. The word of a Sylphs Fairy-is golden They hold their word of honor - And to be inviolate and once sworn to protect their kin, they will defent to their death. The term sylph is derived from the Greek word silphe, which means a 'butterfly' or 'moth' – indeed, fairies are popularly depicted with butterfly wings. These Fairies are volatile and changeable too. The winds are these particular Fairies vehicle to getting around. What they do is, they work through the gases and element of winds of the Earth. They are also known to be very kindly toward humans.
The Ancient Celts regarded butterflies as symbols of fairies or
Sylphs Fairies
Ancestral Spirits and they appear in Celtic stories as guides to the Otherworld or Fairyland, where the dead also dwelt. Ariel is the King of air Elementals and controls all the powers of air. Some fairies seem to represent spirits of weather, particularly whirlwinds, wind, storm, rain, lightning, sunshine and so on. The Wind knots of Folletti of Italy ride storms, the Guriuz bring good weather to farmers, and Mania is the lightning while her brothers are the two founders, The Salvanelli raise storms to ride on the wind and the Swedish Skosra is a violent whirlwind.
Sylphs Fairies
The Inuits believed in an important air spirit, one of the three primary spirits along with the Moon and Sea. Known as Sila, the spirit lived far above the earth and controlled the weather, but punishes human Misdeeds with sickness and bad weather.

'ELFS'-2013

'ELFS'
Through the parallel worlds of time and space, elves have been with us for millions of years. Its just we as humans either haven't seen them, believe in them or they have been standing in front of  us and these mystical creatures just haven't wanted to be seen.

There has been great diversity in how elves have been portrayed. This depends on which race of elves you might be talking about. Elves can be depicted as youthful -  men and women of great beauty, living in forests and other natural places. There are the dark elves, shadow elves, drow's, ghost elves, night elves & sometimes the moon elves that usually live in the very dept's of forests, caves & the deep caverns of the earth. Some of these elves use pagan and the use of black magic. but this is not all. It just depends on the race of the elves. Each race has their own set of history, Personality, Society, Religion, Magic, Clothes, appearance, Orgins, land in which the live ~

Some feel that elves are folklore and are generally possessed by some supernatural abilities. Often related to disease, which they could use for good healing or sickness depending on their relationship toward the person they were affecting. Some people believe that elves have some power overtime, so they can entrap human beings with their music and dance.
It was called the lure of the dance -
Except for Welsh sheep. The superior quality of Welsh mutton is credited to those reckless sheep greedily munching on the grass off the fairy ring!

One might be drawn to the ring by fairy music. Fatally charming for human ears, it weaves dreams and acts as a sleeping draft or love potion. You will never have a better time, the tales tell, and never weary. But when you stop dancing, or are pulled away by a loved one who  remains bravely with one foot outside the ring, you may find a year and a day or a lifetime has passed away. Some have dropped dead from exhaustion. Those who do return are described as dulled or befuddled, moving trance-like through life, unable to recall the tune, the dance or partner, but also unable to forget.
The Fairy Ring
Dare you haunt our hallow'd green?
None but fairies here are seen.
Down and sleep,
Wake and weep,
Pinch him black, and pinch him blue,
That seeks to steal a lover true!
When you come to hear us sing,
or to tread our fairy ring,
Pinch him black, and pinch him blue!
O thus our nails hall handle you!
by Thomas Ravenscroft

Just like their Fairy Ring Dance - The Faeries Music alone can be just as important part of their daily lives - but just as dangers to humans too.
Music play such an important part in the fairy's daily living, particularly that of a Celtic fairy. that some wee folk like the Hebridian spinning fairy, will punish humans who can't hold a tune. Their music is haunting, lilting, and utterly other - worldly fairy music, that if caught by human ears, is so bewitching - one will lose their senses. This is whether it is comprises sweetly melancholic music or lively tunes that will cause the human body to start to dance, this music can remain in the mind forever, so you can see how they could be a not so  friendly type of Fae. The fairy instruments are exquisitely tuned to the cultural tastes of the mortals (humans) who listen to them.
In Wales, the little people play golden harps, in Ireland miniature fiddles, in Scotland the pipes. They  can make music on more uncommon instruments too  - Like the natural things that are around them. Like fishing nets , silver branches, and even a hammer. They say that an fairy fingers on an instrument is like nearly resembles Heaven's harmony

Fairies and Elves like to be clandestine, so what better way of moving around bustling human markets and towns invisible. It is one of the reason why they are feared by mankind & the reason why they are not understood or for that matter believed - that they are still here. One never knows where they are and what they might over - hear. Some of them are as tiny as a bee and even smaller. Others are human size or even much more taller. They are  living creatures that live very long lives and some are immortal.
I think the thing that scares the humans the most is that they have magic powers over humans and that they can do their magic in many different way. They don't always have to us a spell or potion. Many of the elves can use their minds & this is what I believe scares the human race. And has for millions of years since they have had contact with the elves.
Another problem I feel is that most humans have a hard time in believing in  elven realms, parallel worlds, or even portals that they have used for centuries, in the deep forest of Oak Trees.  The reason I say the Oak Forests is because they are known well for being protected by fairy spirits and these tree spirits can be quite crafty and tricky. If your not careful in the forest of the Oak, You might find your self lost wondering around in circles deeper and deeper in the forest and never finding your way out.
I also believe that the elf's & Faeries are mis-understood. Like I was saying their great cities were on our earth before the age of the dragon. Now  they use our forest the u-touched ones /Yes there are a few left. In these forests, is where they have their portal holes to a other dimensions & Parallel worlds, that they can come in and out of our world. One way they do it is by the ancient Oak trees at the base of the tree. Another is in the ancient runes in many parts of Ireland , Scotland , England , Greece to bee just a few.
It could even be in your own backyard - but you will never find it because if your not in tue with the realm of the correlates of the eves or faeries, Mnay of these experiences of these amazing beings will never be part of your life and they will never will appear before you. If your don't open your mind, heart and spirit.
I myself have been lucky or maybe the since the last 8 years in my life I've been much more open minded in my heart and spirit. I've seen many different orbs of light in by backyard  when i take photos & sometimes I see these orbs of light at dusk and at late at night. I hope that you are lucky to be with these beings at some point in your lives too.

Come fairies
take me out of this dull world,
for I would ride with you
upon the wind and dance
upon the mountains like a flame.

I love this poem, sometimes when life gets to hard, I think of my fairies friends.

Water Faires around the World

Water Faires around the World
Water Fairy
I have done many different fairies as of date. And there's still many fairies, that I have yet to find to write about for yu! This includes the beautiful Water Fairies. These fairies are usually depicted as beautiful
blue, white or transparent fairies with long flowing hair reminiscent of seaweed. However whilst all fairies
then to be mischievous and the water fairies can be sometimes positively cruel. They have been known
to lure ships into dangerous seas and innocent men to a watery grave.
In the Greek lore, the fairies there is what they would call the Greek Siren. In the ancient times of the seas
were extremely dangerous and the life of a sailor or fisherman was a very lonely and hazardous one.
Water fairies are also often vain and enjoyed looking at their reflection in the water.
In some traditions they like to leave the water to visit local humans, sometimes to join in a party, at others
to ensnare a new victim. It is said that they can be recognised by their clothing which will always
remain damp.
Then there are the sea and river fairies of the Celtic.
Celtic Myth and folklore especially that of Ireland and sometime Scotland is very rich with supernatural
creatures and Fairies and Elves. Many of these are from ancient ancestry of long ago. Some say the the
Celtic Faeries were some of the first fairies and are still lives in some parts of Ireland and Scotland. These fairies are known as the Sidhe.
Water Fairy
The Sidhe- The name Sidhe pronounced 'shee' refers to not one type of fairy, but to many different varieties of fairies. They are quite unlike our modern concept of a fairy. Although they vary considerably in appearance, the Sidhe are in general more like Tolkien elves than the Tinkerbell. It is said that the Sidhe are
Water Fairy
descended form the ancient race of Tuatha De Danann. These were the peoples of the Goddesses Danu who inhabited Ireland before the coming of man - the Gaels  sons of Mil, also known as the Milesians. They brought to Ireland four great treasures. These four great treasures were; 1.) The Dagda's Cauldron. 2.) The Spear of Lugh 3.) The Stone of Fal 4.) The Sword of Nuada. It was said in the legend of the Gaels, that they battled the Tuatha De Dann and forced them to retreat underground where they are believed to live in  hollowed out hills. The Sidhe are sometimes referred to as the people of the mounds. The Sidhe are also associated with metalwork and smithcraft as well as being the protectors of the hills and forests of Ireland. The Sidhe have various geographic tribes and are usually organised like an aristocratic court with a local king or queen.
Water Fairy
There are many different types of the Fairy Sidhe with many shapes, sizes and powers too!
These include the daoine sidhe or daoine beaga as with so many of the Celtic Fae, they were rarely the diminutive winged creatures we imagine as fairies today.
Perhaps the most well known were the Welsh Gwragedd Annwn, of the Lake Maidens. Unlike many of the water fairies these were generally benevolent to humans. Another interesting variety of water fairy is the
Asrai. These are delicate creatures that can only exit in the water. If they are exposed to the air-for example when caught in a fishing net-the Asrai fairy will turn into a pool of water and slip away. Its easy to imagine a fisherman seeing something glittering beneath the surface of the water, only to find nothing there when the net is pulled up. Water fairies have also been associated with the changeling legend, which is the stealing of human children and taking them into the depths of the forests for their own.
As it goes for Water Fairies around the World, every body of water, from the smallest stream to the
vast ocean, it has its own protective fairy, living below the surface being either good Fae or not so nice Fae.
In Wales, fairy maidens called the Gwragedd Annwn dwell beneath the lakes, are exceedingly beautiful and occasional will venture ashore to take a male human lovers and husband to either, live on land and lake or to
Water Fairy
live under the lake. One such Lady of the Lake was called Vivienne or Nimue which appeared in the stories of King Arthur - Vivienne of the Lake had supplied King Arthur with his Excalibur the magical sword form the Other -world. The sea is as densely populated with fairies as any other place on Earth. In it s depths dwell mermaids and mermen, nymphs and other types of fairy creatures.
These water spirits can control the weather and the water, raise storms, which can also have the power to cause shipwrecks or keep a ship safe too. In ancient times, it was the practice to placate the spirits of the sea with a sacrifice before setting out on a long voyage out to sea. Like all sea fairies they are personified as lovely and seductive also sometimes very treacherous too. These water spirit's can be either the well known mermaids which origins is the goddesses who rose from the sea, like Venus/ Aphrodite or even the fish tailed Atargatis and Derceto. The sea is associated with the Great Mother Goddesses whose names include Maia, Mary, Mara, Marian, Maria and Miriam; All these names are derived from a root word from the sea.
Sea goddesses are usually also goddesses of love and the moon, drawing in the tides, rivers,
Jenny Greenteeth
dew, fog, mists, and the flow of human life thru any type of water. Ancient mariners would have
Jenny Greenteeth
a tattoo of a star to honour the Goddesses Benus as they steered by her Star. She was also the prototype of the huge sail ships figureheads. Some water fairies are unfriendly and very dangerous too.
Jenny Greenteeth lives in the River Ribble in Northern England. When green weeds are waving in the flowing waters, it is a sign that Peggy is lurking beneath the surface, ready to take another victim. She will haunt the stepping stones near Brungerley and every seven years she will claim a human life by grabbing some helpless
traveller and pull him beneath the water to drown him. Children are warned not to go near the water where this very unfriendly and dangerous fairy named Jenny Greenteeth lives, or if they do she will take them too.
Jenny Greenteeth is only one such fairy. There is much more to here story.. Which I do plan on doing more on her tale so please keep a look out for her post...Eh! hheheh. Another one is Peg Prowler who loves to haunt the River Tees. She is also green with long hair and sharp teeth too. If anyone wades anywhere near the water she will pull on their ankles then drags them down to their deaths. Peg O' Nell also demands the sacrifice of a life every seven years and will be satisfied with a small animal or even a bird, though if this is not offered she will! take a human life whether it be a child or adult human.
The Powers of Water
Water Fairy
Water has often been considered to be actual living thing, or certainly to have the power of sustaining, bestowing and even restoring life as we know it. As well as being capable of taking it away too! Every ancient society honoring springs, water wells and water sources as sacred. The Celts and other sacrificed
treasures of the lakes and river spirits. Rivers were worshiped by the Druids and were believed to each have
their resident water spirits that required sacrifices to be made to them. The River Tweed is said to demand a
yearly sacrifice, but the Till is more voracious. This is a poem of the River Tweed;
Tweed says to Till,
'What gars ye Tin sae still?
Says Till to Tweed,"
'Though ye run Wi' speed, and I Tin slaw,
Whaurye droon ae man,
I droon twa'
Water Fairy
Just as water takes the form of whatever it is poured into, the water faeries have the power to alter their shape to what ever shape they choose. If you anger them by polluting their water, they may appear as a hideous green toothed hags to drench you with a sudden storm, or even drown you beneath the crashing waves of either the ranging rivers or oceans . If they take a liking to you, they might appear as gorgeous golden haired youths or maids, wooing you with sweet fairy music. A 'protoype of water fairies is the Greek sea god Proteus , known as the Old Man of the Sea who is the most masterful at shapeshifter of all Nature. You may
wonder why? Well its because he is able to assume any shape he desires. Most water fairies are said to be
Water Fairy
shapeshifters, Perhaps because of the fluid and changeable nature of water itself, which is only given shape by the vessel that it holds it. Another item that Water is ruled by along with the water fairy is the moon. which pulls the ebb and flows of the tides and many water fairies are said to appear by moonlight. Under the full moon is the best time to contact them or even see them from a far. Our bodies too respond to the moons tides, as they are mainly made up of water too. We are influenced by the moons tides almost as much as are fairy friends. Lastly Water has healing powers;especially water that flows east to west is empowered by the rising sun at the vernal Equinox, May Day and Midsummer. Any stream that runs north to south has magick properties as does the place where the two streams meet, these were often the places for magic and otherworlds made contact. Pools and lakes are magick entrances to the other -world. Where three streams meet was always considered to be a especially potent place of magick where people would gather to drink the water as it would have strong magick properties
I hope that You all Enjoyed my post
