URBAN-LEGENDS-CREEP-CONTAMINATIONS-'THE POISON DRESS'

URBAN-LEGENDS~
CREEP-CONTAMINATION'S~

'THE POISON DRESS'
GOOD AFTERNOON MY DEAR FRIENDS & FOLLOWERS. FOR ANOTHER POST TODAY SINCE I AM ON A ROLL TODAY! I THOUGHT I WOULD BRING YOU ALL THROUGH
A COUPLE OF URBAN LEGENDS!
THIS CREEP URBAN LEGEND IS ABOUT
'THE POISON DRESS'
THIS IS HOW THE TALE OF THE URBAN LEGEND GOES!
IT SEEMS THAT THE STORY WAS TOLD LAST THANKSGIVING BY
AN COUSIN WHO WORKED IN THE FINE WOMAN'S WEAR AT
NEIMAN MARCUS IN BEVERLY HILLS. THE COUSIN SAID THAT SINCE
NEIMAN MARCUS HAS A VERY LENIENT RETURN POLICY, MANY WEALTHY
WOMEN PUT $10,000 DRESSES ON THEIR CHARGE ACCOUNTS, WEAR
THE EXPENSIVE DRESSES ONLY ONCE, HAVE THEM DRY CLEANED
AND THEN RETURN THEM TO THE STORE FOR A FULL REFUND.
THIS IS WHEN THE TALE GETS INTERESTING! SOMEONE AT THE
STORE HAD TOLD THE COUSIN WHAT HAD HAPPENED ONE TIME BECAUSE
OF THIS PRACTICE IN THE FINE WOMEN'S WEAR AT NEIMAN MARCUS,
BEFORE HE EVEN STARTED WORKING THERE!
THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED! ITS SEEMS THAT AFTER A WOMAN RETURNED
A VERY EXPENSIVE DESIGNER DRESS, ANOTHER WOMAN WOULD BUY
THAT SAME DRESS. HOWEVER, LATER AFTER THE SECOND LADY HAD
BOUGHT THE EXPENSIVE DESIGNER DRESS, SHE HAD BREAK OUT IN A
HORRIBLE RASH WHILE WEARING THE DRESS.
SO THE NEXT DAY, THE WOMAN WENT TO HER DERMATOLOGIST, TO SEE
WHAT WAS WRONG WITH HER SKIN?
TO HER SURPRISE THE DOCTOR TOLD HER THAT SHE WAS
EXPOSED TO FORMALDEHYDE. SO AT THIS POINT SHE SUED
NEIMAN MARCUS FOR THE DOCTOR BILLS AND THE DRESS. PROBABLY BECAUSE
SHE COULDN'T BELIEVE THAT SHE WAS EXPOSED TO
FORMALDEHYDE BY JUST WEARING A DESIGNER DRESS.
IN THIS CASE OF THE POISON DRESS THE LADY DID LIVE!
HOWEVER, THE STORE DID TRACED THE DRESS BACK TO THE VERY FIRST
WOMAN WHO FINALLY ADMITTED WHAT HAPPENED.
THIS IS WHEN IT GETS CREEPY!
THE FIRST WOMAN WHO HAD THE DRESS SAID THAT, HER MOTHER
WANTED TO BE BURIED IN THAT SAME VERY EXPENSIVE DESIGNER DRESS
FROM NEIMAN MARCUS IN HOLLYWOOD LA.
HOWEVER, THE DAUGHTER DIDN'T WANT TO BURY SUCH AN
EXPENSIVE DRESS, SO SHE GOT IT BACK FORM THE MORTICIAN AFTER
THE FUNERAL SERVICE AND RETURNED IT TO THE STORE.
THEN THE SECOND LADY WHO HAD BOUGHT THAT SAME DRESS
THAT HER MOTHER WAS DRESSED IN AT THE FUNERAL HOME,
WAS THEN EXPOSED TO THE FORMALDEHYDE THAT SOAKED INTO THE
FABRIC FROM THE CORPSE OF THE DEAD MOTHER.
~WELL THERE IS A TWIST TO THE TALE~
THIS IS AN TRUE STORY BUT NOT AS DRAMATIC AS YOU MIGHT THINK!
IT ENDS UP NOT BEING FROM THE DESIGNER NEIMAN MARCUS
HOLLYWOOD EXPENSIVE DRESSES BUT, FROM WHAT THE COUSINS
GIRLFRIENDS SAID WAS THAT HER GRANDMOTHER WOULDN'T LET
HER EVER! BUY DRESSES FROM THE THRIFT SHOPS BECAUSE OF A
WOMAN WHO ACTUALLY DID DIED! FROM FORMALDEHYDE POISON IN
THE FROM OF A SECOND-DRESS.
THIS STORY HAPPENS TO BE 60 YEARS OLD.
I HOPE YOU FOUND THIS TO BE INTERESTING AND
FUN MY DEARS LOVE YOU ALL

JAKOTSU BABA

Jakotsu Baba - The Old Snake Bone Woman
Good Moring my dears, I hope that you all are doing well. I have sunshine today so I have been spending a lot of time in my garden but I will keep in touch with you all my dear friends, followers, supporters and readers too. For today I am going to one of my favorite legends and urban legends of sorts in the land of Japan/China. I hope you will find it interesting my dears WENDY...
The Jakotsu Baba - is basically an legend of the 'Old Snake Bone Woman' in Japanese/Chinese  folklore. It is so ancient that one doesn't know which culture it originally comes from. So this is how the tale goes; If you happen to be wondering through the woods at night and stumble
upon something that looks like a carved stone stamped with the symbol of the snake -RUN!!!
It could be nothing... Or you could have stumbled across the hidden grave of the long-dead
Jako Emon, which means that you are seconds away from an encounter with his wife, the 'Old Snake Bone Woman' called Jakotsu Baba. So you all might be curious - What is the Jakotsu Baba?
Well, in Japanese/Chinese folklore the 'Old Snake-Bone Woman's kanji reads exactly that! 蛇-ja-snake + 骨-kotsu-bone + 婆-baba-old woman. It really depends on the region and the dialect that you happen to be in Japan too! So there are other names too! Known as Jagoba- the 'Five-Snake Woman: 蛇-ja-snake + 五-go-five + 婆-baba-old woman. I hope this will give you a little idea of the culture and the writings too.
Also the Jakotsu Baba would seem to origin in Toriyama Sekiens Konjaku Hyakki Shui- 今昔百鬼拾遺, which means in English - [Supplement to a Hundred Demons from the Present and Past]. As it is shown in the illustration to the left as an old woman with her body is wrapped in Snakes. It is said that 'Toriyama Sekiens Konjaku Hyakki Shui wrote:
'There is an old woman from in northern Funkan-koku -China. In her right hand she holds a large blue snake and in her left hand a red one. The people of this country call her the Jakotsu Baba - The Old Snake-Bone Woman. They say she is the wife of Jakoemon [Five-Snake Emon] and that she holds vigil over the family tombs. She is sometimes called the Jagoba-the Five -Snake Woman-depending on the dialect of the region'
So now that you know a little about the Jakotsu Baba I thought we should go over her Origins.
As I found out about this legend of the Old Snake Bone Woman or Jakotsu Baba I found that little is known about her origins apart from what Toriyama had wrote in his Konjaku Hyakki Shui. It is not known if Konjaku had invented or created the character centuries ago - or if he collected the legend from somewhere or from someone. However, it would seem that Jakotsu Baba doesn't appear in any prior collections in either China or Japan. Kinda makes you wonder but China & Japan are very ancient country's with very long ancient past so one could never tell? There are a few other names that are mentioned by Toriyama - these are - [The Snake Family-云蛇塚- Sadly it would seem that the 'Old Snake-Bone Woman's Husband Jako Emon has never been found in any type of text of either Japanese or Chinese. Nor has either of their tombs been discovered. However, all of these peculiar and particular details give more flavor to this tale. It would seem that the area of Funkan-koku is a region particularly touch by the supernatural & renowned for its mediums and fortune tellers too. Also the Yokai Books from the Showa period expanded on the Jakotsu Baba and moved her mysterious grave to Japan. If your curious about the Showa period, it is said that Jako Emon once was a human, but when he died the sign of a snake was stamped onto his gravestone, hence he became wife of the 'Old Snake Bone Woman' called Jakotsu Baba. To stand eternity guarding over his grave and his wife transformed into a yokai with a blue snake slithering into her right hand and a red snake into her left. She world attack anyone who came too close to her husbands grave. It is said that the Jakotsu Baba doesn't appear often in Japanese folklore.
I hope that you found the tale interesting
love your all very much
your friend always

Ningyo Japanese Mermaid~
In the Japanese folklore they are called the Mermaid - Ningyo.
Unlike the European and Westerns who call them Mermaids. They are also a different kinda of creature in Japaneses culture compared to the European and Western Culture  too. In Japan the Ningyo is depicted as being an enormous fish but, with the head of a beautiful woman. Plus she is benevolent and very protective towards humans. They warn humans against misfortune on land and in the oceans and seas. They do not entice them into danger like her occidental counterparts. Note: These different folklore's are all up to a matter of opinion. I've just written the different cultures, myths, legends and folklore of the different counties.
The Traditional Mermaids are often seen sitting on rocks on the
edge of the ocean seashore. They are usually singing and enticing curious sailors to come closer to the dangerous rocks near the oceans shores. It is this singing that allies them to the sirens, luring sailors to their doom. Even the ancient accounts as well as the more modern ones, the appearance of these creatures will conjunction with misfortune and disaster.
Although there are a few regions - Scotland, Wales and Cornwall in
England where the Mermaid has been kind and benevolent towards humans when they have rescue humans from the oceans and give humans their great knowledge in herbal cures for fatal sickness, others have given humans rich gifts in gemstones and warned them of terrible storms that are coming.
It is also been heard of that a few of these Mermaids will marry a human. Their children will often have webbed feet and fingers. Yet these marriages never last very long. The mermaid usually will return to their watery world of the sea, where their men are called mermen.
There are some stories during the medieval period in Europe that considered the mermaid to be an  agent of the devil and a symbol of deceit, but I don't believe in that at  myself personally so I am not going to go further on that subject.
I have found that there is a rich history and tradition in folktales, songs and culture around the world with the Mermaid-
These places are such as;
The Bonito Maidens of the Solomon islands
The Saivo-Neita and Havfrue of Scandinavia
The Nakinneito of Finland
The Nakinein of Estonia
The Imanja & Jamaina from Brazil
The Margygr of Greenland
Ningyo of Japan.
I hope you Enjoy the legend of the Ningyo Japanese Mermaid
Love you all my dear Friends and Followers! Your Wendy!

Apalala the River Dragon who was Converted to Buddhism-

Apalala *River Dragon who Converted to Buddhism-
The Apalala River Dragon
Apalala is a fascinating Indian River Dragon that I thought you my dear
friends and followers would find interesting. From what I cold tell you, in the Buddhist Mythology,
he was the only dragon ever to be converted to a human religion and by Buddha himself. It is said that the Apalala River Dragon lived near the Swat River in India where Buddha visited often. Apalala was an Indian Naga Dragon-A greenish dragon like creature with two legs, two arm and a long tail. Apalala had no wings and a human head. He lived by the Swat river and was the Guardian of the source of the Subhavastu River.
The legends have said many versions and it was very difficult to find what I did find for you.
In one legend it tells that Apalala was unhappy with his life. And It happened to be that very day when
Apalala turned into a
huge Dragon causing
destruction to the
people of India
Buddha himself came to call at the river that Apalala dwell in. And the Buddha actually spoke and had
a conversation with the River Dragon Apalala. This is when Apalala was then converted to Buddhism
found contentment. As the tale goes Apalala was very Happy so in gratitude the Dragon began using
his charms to keep the other powerful dragons of the area in check and protect the all the people of
the India region. After Buddha converted Apalala to the human religion of Buddhism, Apalala then set out to teach it to other dragons, but the other dragons drove him away. However they still allowed Apalala to still
continue to teach the humans. As most legends goes this went well at first. The people of India were very grateful and offered Apalala the River Dragon a tribute. Sadly over time the people of India started to take
Apalala for granted and eventually even forgot about him.  Well this angered the Dragon Apalala.
So he turned against humanity and prayed to become a poisonous dragon, causing storms and
destroying the land of the people. From what I understand this is one of the more popular legends in
Buddhist folklore. The tale is often told to Buddhist children for them to learn their happiness lies in
their faith and not to take anything for granted. So there is a moral to this tale of the
Apalala River Dragon who wanted to help the people of India.. Never take anything for
granted as the people of India did with the kindly Dragon Apalala did and then he
turned on them into a deadly Dragon causing destruction and terror to their homeland.
I hope that you all Enjoyed this post about the Apalala River Dragon. I love you all
my dear friends and followers very much..

Sandman the Urban Legend

Sandman-
The Sandman Of Legend that gave
Good Dreams
Good evening & Welcome my dearest Friends and Followers to my humble Blog. I have an interesting Urban Legend for you all today. I thought I had done this one, but I had a peek on my Labels and it seems that I haven't come across the 'Sandman' just yet---There seem to be many different versions of this popular western folklore legend that brings good sleep and dreams to children. However, there are other tales of the Sandman that aren't so nice and don't give good dreams.
The Sandman
of Legend that would
give Good Dreams
Originally the Sandman was a character in the western world who would give sleep & good dreams to all children by sprinkling magic sand onto the eyes of children. He was traditionally a character in many children's stories, invoked to help or lull children to sleep[Helping parents to get their children to go to bed then fall to sleep quickly]. It was said that he would sprinkle sand or dust on or into the eyes of the children at night to bring on dreams and sleep. The grit or 'sleep' in one's eyes upon waking is supposed to be the result of the Sandman's work the previous evening.
The Darker Sandman
That would take
and not give.
There was another creature that bore the name 'Sandman', but this creature they called Sandman was very different & quite creepy so have said. Its skin is that of a dead person, decayed and discolored. It has very long fingers and many sharp teeth. This Sandman hides just out of sight in the dark and whispers, "tik toc, tik toc'' to its unlucky victims. This strange chant quickly puts his victims into a deep sleep. Once asleep, This Creepy Creature of a Sandman will come out of hiding and devour the sleeping victim with its sharp teeth. It only needs to feast once per night, but it will sometimes choose to kill for fun. This creature can only come out in the dark. It is said to be the evil brother of the Good Sandman, but some disagree. So what do yu think?
 In the Sandman
origins in ancient
 Greco-Rome times
the God of Sleep
It is said that the sandman's origins can be traced back to ancient Greco-Rome and the God of Sleep.
Scandinavian Folklorist Hans Christian Anderson Danish folktale
is another of the earliest recorded tales of the Sandman.
There was another Sandman in Urban legends of German folklore that was quite horrific they say---some have said he would steal the eyes of children who don't shut their eyes while going to sleep & then feeds them to his children on the moon. It is a very stark contrast to the Has Anderson's Sandman story. The German Fantasy was written by author E.T.A Hoffman in 1776-1822. Hoffman's tale, known as the Der Sandmann of 1816 tells, of a more sinister sandman who comes into the children's rooms, only at night, of course, throw very coarse sand into their eyes which caused them to fall out of their sockets.
The Der Sandmann of Germany
After that, the Der Sandmann scoops the children's eyes up and places them in a bag. Then takes them back home to the crook of the crescent moon where he feeds them to his bird-like progeny. Yes, it's a terrifying tale, but can you image the European children of the 18th to 19th centuries being actually told this tale by their caretakers as a warning as to why they should go to bed when they were told!  As far as today, the Sandman is still an important figure in the western folklore and in pop-culture, appearing in films, books, and songs too.
As far as the Scary version of the Sandman, it seems that there are a few filmmakers that are still interested in making unusual plotlines and visuals with this scary creature. One of these Filmmakers is Dario Argento who is known for his Giallo Italian Horror movies.

I found this video of one person
a version of the Sandman by
KingSpook
-It's very interesting -

This is my favorite Sandman!
