The Jade Palace-

The Jade Palace-
The Jade Palace
Good Afternoon my dearest friends & followers I am so glad that you all have been enjoying my post these pass few months. And that you like to come and visit my humble blog. Without you all I would be able to stay here. For my next tale I found in many of my favorite dragon books-this tale about the Jade Palace is very ancient so it was very difficult to find an image for you. I did find some that were with the Disney story with the Panda Bear 1-2 & now 3 in the theaters. However I wanted to find something that had to do with the true Jade palace. After looking for about an hour I did find a few that I will share with you along with the tale. I hope that you enjoy the story. Wendy.
'The Jade Palace'
'In ancient china, there was a palace that was built entirely of Jade. Surrounding the Jade Palace was five cities. There was one centre city that surrounded all the other four cities and the Jade Palace too! Around the Jade Palace you can see an range of twelve towers that have nine gates between them on each side of the towers. There were also nine rings of smaller mountains that surrounded the Kunlun Mountain like it was the palace city walls.
It is said that the Kunlun Mountains are a haunted monsterious abyss, that also contains the Ruoshi River. This Ruoshi River is very usual water, meaning it was crimson in color. What this meant in those ancient times was that not even a feather would be able to float upon the usual fast moving crimson river. Hence it was often said that the only way for an mortal to reach Mount Kunlun was to ride on the back of a Dragon.
Hence then he or she could go beyond the abyss which was rings of fiery mountains which burned day and night. Also there was huge lighting clouds that burst over head. The cliffs of Kunlun were so steep that only the craws of a dragon could climb the mountain of Kunlun. To the northeast of Jade mountain was the beautiful Peach Garden. In this Peach Garden was an latter, so one could climb up into the heavens above. This is what the Yellow Emperor would do often, to refresh his spirits by visiting the enchanting Peach trees within the Garden.
Inside this amazing garden which was tended by Xiwangmn, the

Queen Mother of the West, a beautiful but often wild & capricious Goddess. The Queen mother's garden contains very special everlasting peach trees which bloom only every 3,000 years to bear its magick fruit. The Chinese Goddess/Queen Mother of immortality. In her Magical orchard of Peaches, she grows the most fragrant peaches that they can be smelled from miles away. It is said that her peaches has the power to bring peace to those who can smell them & if one is so lucky to get ahold of these magical peaches, it will grant you immortality. Just one of the Queen Mother's Peach Trees will bear fruit every 3,000 years [which takes another 3000 years to ripen]. When the Queen Mother Peach Trees are ready, it is usually held with a great feast to celebrate her birthday. At the time, all that were invited were all the immortals of the Gods to share her peaches of renewing their spirits. Also the Goddess/Queen Mother would make a very special drink of an

elixir from her magic peaches to renew their immortality. Well, this is the true story of what they might of
basic the Panda Disney movies on... I am not sure so don't quote
me on that. But there is a lot of similarity to both tales.
I hope you enjoy the tale.
Love you all my dear friends and followers
Your friend always
WENDY

Creating a Butterfly Friendly Garden!

Creating a Butterfly Friendly Garden!
If you love the beauty of butterflies, this will be the post of you! As myself looking forward
to spring. I thought I would do  an post on the beauty of the Butterfly.
As for a butterfly Garden. It is simple as, 'If you build it', they will come.
The best butterfly gardens take a little planning, but are pretty self sufficient, once they are up and
blooming. Once you have chosen the right flowering plants for the right placement and
remember to provide some water and shelter, then  all you have to do is sit back
and watch for the flutter of the beautiful wings to come into your gardens.
Location-
Though open sunny meadows often come to mind when you think of butterflies, don't worry if you only
have just a small space. They will come wit the right location. A butterfly garden can be a small as a few pots
on your back porch in the city or as large as a your yard, what ever type it may be. Always make sure to
include some shady spots if possible, since some butterflies prefer them. Just remember that the best
butterfly gardens can sometimes look a little overgrown or even a little ragged. They don't always go
for the formal focal point if you are a pristine gardener if that is important to you.
Before You Plant-
You should always avoid any type of pesticides in your garden. Then once you have chosen a spot in
your garden, you can begin with the soil. Use plenty of compost within your soil if you can. This makes
your plants thrive without much additional fertilization, but of course there is very good soils you can
get at your local stores where they sell plants and flowers that will work just fine too. Not everyone can
use compost or has the time. I myself have been using compost for years in a large plastic bin. And it work great. And I have been using all pots for years on my small porch so- Yes! it can be done my friends and Followers:o) [Note: If you should some interest in compost I can do a post on how to do that even living in the city on a back porch!]
Butterfly Buffet-
Most butterflies get the majority of their diet from nectar producing plants, so these should make-up the
largest part of your garden. [note: Then you will have both a hummingbird and Butterfly garden!]  You will
want to pick out native plants when ever possible, as these will thrive with little care and often draw the most
butterflies to yur garden. You will also want to anchor you garden with a few larger nectar production
shrubs - flowering plants in a variety of colors, heights and sizes as well. Be sure to choose flowers in the
early spring as well as late fall as in the fall is when the butterflies sometimes struggle to find food.
Here are some of the Butterflies Favorites to get you started-
salvia-
lantana-
pentas-
aster-
marigolds-
zinnia-
coneflowers- [they come in many different colors]
buddleia- [in choice area's]
Of course not all butterflies rely on just nectar flowering plants. So for those butterflies here are some
flowers for them-
morning cloaks-
red-spotted purples-
Water Source-
Butterflies will get most of the water that they need from nectar in the flowering plants, but not all butterflies
use their delicate proboscises to sip water from dew drops in puddles. So you have to create a place for these few butterflies. What you can do is - first go to your local good -well and find either a medal, plastic, ceramic or thick glass large shallow dish. Once you get it home clean it very well. Then find a good place for it outside that the butterflies can get to it, usually a bit higher up. You might want to put some sand in the bottom of the shallow dish, then add clean water. You most remember to change the water often too.
It can get dirty fast. Also other creatures may use it like that of many birds too. So have fun with it .
Butterflies Raising their Young-
There are many kinds of plants that would provide butterflies to raise their young-caterpillars.
Some of these host plants are:
Milkweed for monarchs-
hollyhocks for painted ladies-
violets for great spangledfri-
Some butterflies and moth caterpillars use trees too, so if you have
space consider adding ash or willow for:
tiger-
swallowtails
morning cloaks-
Butterflies are very fragile creatures and just a raindrop can seem more like a bowling ball to them.
So when bad weather threatens butterflies seek for shelter.
You can buy read made wooden butterfly houses, but if you have planted natural area's of tall grasses
thick shrubs either in your yard or in pots on your porches. Your butterflies can survive over the winter months in these small crevices. And even start a family with with caterpillars. I have seen myself many of
caterpillars in the fall foliage each autumn. So I would not toss the fallen browns leaves out there may be
some creatures in there..
Happy Gardening!

Love you All! Your Wendy!!!

TipsFromtheGarden~DiscovertheHiddenTreasuresinYourOwnGardenEvenintheWinter~

TipsFromtheGarden~
 DiscovertheHiddenTreasures-inYourOwnGarden
EvenIntheWinter~
The Winterberry  in a deep Freeze
On my wish list of plants

In today's post, in TipsFromtheGarden~ I am going to
try to help you discover the hidden treasures in your own Gardens...
The thing about making you own Backyard an hidden treasure of Nature,
its really about making you Yard an Oasis so that you won't have to
Travel too far to make your own bit of Paradise.
I believe that you can make your own yards, backyards or porch's
(like what I have), an little Oasis. An place that you don't have to get
into an car, plane, ship; to get away from the chaos of everyday life.
Instead you can simply escape to the outdoors, by one or two steps
Into you own backyard Oasis....
First take in the sight of your own space that you You have!
Make sure that you can see your little Paradise by a good view from inside
your windows. What this means - Can you sit and Enjoy your backyard
Oasis during the cold winter months of the year.
So if you can't get outside to enjoy your Oasis, during those winter months and just
can get out to maintain your garden. Find a nice easy chair or soft comfy soft
That is near the windows, so that you can open (the window just a crack)
and listen to the wondrous sounds of nature outside. During the
winter it can be very relaxing to just sit and listen to the sounds
of outside; like that of the rain, wind, and even falling snow . I can be so
quite yet you can still hear the snow coming down. You must try it. It
is amazing.. Also the sounds of the wind hitting the branches on the
outside trees too. For me, I love to listen to my Anne hummingbirds
in the winter... Yes even in the winter time. And today it snowed
November 29, 2014 first day of snow in Washington Kent amazing. But of course
my Anne Hummers were right at my two feeders that I have keep clean
and full for them. There are other wondrous birds to listen too..
The winter brings these to your winter Oasis Gardens...
~Your Oasis Garden in Winter Outside~

If you get the courage to go outside on those few
nice days during the fall and winter months of Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb and Early March
Take a listen to what is going on in your garden, yards, backyards, and
Porch's too. Sometimes if you truly listen carefully you can
discover that you have a symphony choir of chirping birds, humming bees,
High-Pitch tones of the Anne hummingbirds, the soft breeze that
drifts through your wind chimes, even the splash of a little cold water
from a fountain you might have - across you face just showing you alive...
During either the summer months or winter you can hear the
wondrous laughter of children laughter as the play summer games
or the winter ones. And the delight when it does snow...
~Play Games~

During each season of the months, you can make different
fun activities in your Garden.
This will how you will Enjoy your garden that much More!
During the Summer Months, you can kick -off your saddles and just feel
the cool grass under your toes when; your watering you plants.
Throw around a Frisbee or Football. Grab a mallet and pretend your
in the world of 'Alice in Wonderland' by playing croquet in the
Queen of Hearts. ( loved that game as a kid! and still do now!)
There is the Classic games; water balloons, climbing trees, water guns,
baseball, hide&seek and there of course is the favorite
Planting new plants in your Garden too.
During the Fall Months, Its always fun too make big mounds of leaves
that have fallen then have great games of jumping into the mounds
of leaves. There is also great Fall plants to that you can
look for at your local nursery. And you can have a look a some of
my other posts that I have done on TipsFromtheGarden~
They have many ideas of Fall planting too.
During the Winter Months, if it snows its always fun to make
snow angles, snowman and having snowball fights with your kids.
These will also give you great memories in your Own Oasis that
you will cherish for years to come...
Also there is also many different kinds of beautiful
winter type of plants too .. like my favorite
The Winterberry...
~The bucket list~
It seems that most of the world is consumed by doing their
'Bucket List' before they died. I have been hearing this term on T.V.
different shows too. I believe if you get to consumed by getting a quote'
a LIST or Bucket LIST done. That is all that your going to allow
time for yourself too do in life. Rush! Rush! Rush!
Must get my Bucket List done before I died; hustle hustle is the game
Of Society to Day!
It hardly seems like anyone these days would even allow themselves
to just sit back in an cozy chair and just relax and do nothing at All!
This is what I mean by why Society has lost touch with themselves
and just to enjoy life that was given to them..
Just lean back in your favorite cozy chair, in your own Oasis that you have
made for yourself in maybe your garden lets say. And just lean back and take in
the beauty of Nature within your yard. Watch the leaves and branches blow in
the wind as the sunlight filters through the canopy of the trees.
Or just listen to the wondrous birds that make the most
beautiful sounds that only nature could do.
And there is the beauty of perfumes  of the flowers and the
hummingbirds that can do the most amazing flying dance that no other birds can!
All of these should be just enough  to remind you that the simplest
Things in life can and are often the BEST!
~Planting for your Oasis~
If You've planted with an eye toward attracting wildlife and Birds, you'll
reap rich rewards... Grasp a pair of Binoculars and watch a mother bird
feed her young. Watch you might even get lucky like me and have
bird eggs and be able to watch them hatch and the whole process it is
amazing thing to see. If you have a watch fountain you will bring in
lots of different kinds of birds too. Learn about the different kinds of plants
that will attract the different kinds of birds, butterflies and bees too Once
you have learn about all this you will have the best little Oasis of your own!
~Search for Treasures~
Nest in my Oasis
two of four baby eggs that
were hatch that one summer
Expected Treasures in Your Own backyard are the Best!
Like for me one summer when I came upon two treasures  of
two nests with 4 blue eggs and then got to watch them all hatch
and grow into adult birds..
There are many other little or big treasure's that
you may find in you Oasis.
So love the time that you have on this Big beautiful Earth
