Ryujin Dragon God of Japan-

Ryujin Dragon God
of Japan
'Owatatsumi'

The Ryujin Dragon God of Japan, also known as "Owatatsumi' was the tutelary deity of the sea in
Japaneses Mythology. A tutelary spirit or Paton deity, that served  as a guardian of, or entity to watch over
and protect the Japanese people. This Japanese dragon symbolized the power of the ocean, and had a huge mouth & was able to shape-shift into a human shape. Ryujin lived in his most beautiful palace under the sea, built out of red and white coral, from his palace Ryujin would control the ocean tides with his magick tide jewels.
He had Sea turtles, rare and beautiful fish , and many different  jellyfish that were often his servants of this
Palace.

Ryujin the Dragon God was the father of the beautiful Goddess Otohime who married the hunter prince Hoori. The first Emperor of Japan. Emperor Jimmu, is said to have been a grandson of Otohime and Hoori's.
Thus. Ryujin is said to be one of the ancestors of the Japanese imperial Dynasty. Ryujin was also called
"Luminous Being' The Japanese dragon god of the sea. Living in Ryugu his palace at the bottom of the
sea. The dragon daughter Otohime [Toyo-tame] was married to prince Hoori. The sea-king Ryujin God was
depicted with a large mouth and Turtles are regarded as his messengers.

Toyotama-hime (japanese for Lumimous Jewel, also known as Otohime, is a goddess in Japanese mythology, and the daughter of Ryujin , the god of the sea, She married the hunter Hoori and gave birth to a son, who in turn produced Emperor Jimmu, the first Emperor of Japan. After giving birth The Goddess turned to the dragon and flew away into the sea.

Whether it was because of his familial relation to the royal family or a patriotic loyalty, we will never know, because it was centuries ago. Also the fact that Ryujin was a fierce protector of japan.
According of legend, the Empress Jingu was able to carry out her attack into Korea with the help
of Ryujin's tide of jewels. Many centuries ago the Empress Jingo panned an invasion of Korea.

The Great Ryujin god Dragon of Japan, many centuries ago, the Empress Jingo
planned an invasion of Korea. She prayed to Ryujin and sent the beach God Isora to his temple. There he
was given the Tide Jewels for the empress. The Japaneses fleet then set sail toward Korea and the
Korean fleet sailed out to confront them. When she saw the approaching fleet, Jingo quickly threw the Low
Tide Jewel into the sea so that the tide receded at once and the Korean fleet was beached. The Koreans all
Jumped out of their ships onto the mudflats, but at that moment the empress threw the High Tide Jewel and a tidal wave drowned the men. The tidal wave carried the Japanese fleet on to the coast, into the harbor and to victory.
Later Ryujin personally presented the Tide Jewels, on a beautiful pink shell, to Prince Ojin. Empress Jingo's son.
As annual festival, called Gion Matsuri, at Yasaka Shrine Celebrates this legend. "Dragon God Faith" is also a form of Shinto religious belief that worships dragons as water kami. It is connected with their agricultural rituals, rain prayers and the success of fishermen of Japan.
The Ryujin Dragon is also connected with the peoples agriculture's because of it's characteristic's as a water kami. Prayers for rain were performed at the rivers, swamps, ponds and deep pools which were regraded as the abodes of the Ryujin. Agricultural rituals, such as prayers for rain and rope pulls  were carried  out
using a straw rope shaped like a serpent-like dragon.
As a water kami, Ryujin was connected with the kami of thunder, who brings fourth rain and lighting.
It was thought that a tornado occur when the Dragon Kami ascended from heaven. Further more, umi no kami [kami of the sea), thought to reside on the other side of the ocean and to rule over the sea, is connected with water kami belief and is frequently used as a synonym of The Dragon God Ryujin. Fishermen will pray
to the dragon kami for an abundant catch and calm seas. They will carry out festivals for the Dragon God Ryujin, and celbrate as the kami of the sea and the kami of the dragon palace. These festivals are called
Isomatsuri -meaning beach festival. and Shiomatsuri- meaning tide festival.
The people of japan with their strong belief of the magical powers of the Dragon God of the Ocean gives them all hope and in some way that from their actions they are calming the serpent of the sea so that they will have plenty of good food /fishing for centuries to even today.

Pandora Box

Pandora Box-
Have you ever been curious about Pandora's Box? Well In this post I will tell you how it all
happened.
It all started In Greece Centuries ago. It is said it was the a woman who brought all the
evil to mankind, but she didn't do it all on her own. This is how the tale goes-
The Smith God HEPHAISTOS made Pandora out of clay. The Goddess Athena gave her life
and beauty was given to her by the Goddess Aphrodite.
Now quickwitted Hermes taught Pandora her guile and arranged for her to marry Epimetheus,
the brother of the Titan PROMETHEUS.
But of course Zeus disliked mortals and did his very best to harass them,[mostly men] unless of course they were an beautiful woman that he felt he wanted to take advantage at the moment. That is just how Zeus was
in the days of the Gods and Titans. What had anger Zeus was the fact that Prometheus, had offered
them the happy married couple protection as much as he could.
This is what I believe what created the Pandora Box- From this action of Prometheus-
Zeus God of the Sky & Thunderbolts and lighting was so angry with the actions of Prometheus,
that when Prometheus gave mankind fire, that he became his sworn enemy and introduced Pandora to
Earth to plague the world with all the evils of the world. How ignoring the warnings of Prometheus, Epimetheus married Pandora and accepted as her dowry a sealed jar of divine gifts, but it happened
that the jar of sealed divine gifts were the container of all the evils of the world given to them by Zeus as
a wedding gift.
The only good thing in it was Hope, which lay at the very bottom. One day, against her husbands advise
Pandora opened the jar and then released all the evil into the mortal Earth as Zeus had said would happen and wished, to ruin all that was good on Earth. In some ways You could take this as Zeus truly believing he is the God of everything and decided to purge the Earth of all it evil and starting over again. Like in Noah when God told Noah to build an Ark.
There is another version to this tale- Although I don't think most believe this version- Some say that the Jar
contained everything that was good, and when the lid was raised it all escaped.
It is also said that Pandora's daughter Pyrrha married Deucalion, the Greek name for Noah.  So when Zeus Was so determined to destroy mankind on account of his/her wickedness he decided to purge the Earth with his Jar -Pandora Box.
But Deucalion-Noah and Pyrrha [Pandora daughter] survived the great flood he sent by building a boat, stock with food and animals etc of both female/ male to reproduce after the flood. So in both ways one could say Zeus failed in ended the humans..
But it really depends on yur belief and faith I just am telling the tale of the the Greek gods. So You have to make your own decisions on what really happened . Hope you liked the tale of Pandora' Box
Loveya Wendy.

Ashrays Fairies

Ashrays Fairies-
The spirit of the Scottish people  originates from a proud and turbulent heritage, with
Ashray Fairy
living and fighting their way thought the thousands of centuries. Their tales and
folklore is what's the core of their belief and the backbone of the small communities of
Scotland. I know very little, but I have Scottish heritage in my blood/ on my fathers side and
I am very proud of it. So I thought I would do a piece on the Scottish people and their
belief and the Fairies of Scotland.
Faeries play a prominent and very important role in the Scottish folklore. There are many different
kinds of faeries in Scotland, from the waterways, wells and the lochs. And through the many many centuries an ancient fairy has always been there to   protect them, even to this day in present time. The fairies are also very important in rituals and are believed to be responsible for failing farmers crops when someone has
violated or even upset the balance of nature where they live around the surroundings of these farm lands.
So before you ever decided to go walking into the fields or even a forest by yourself, it is advised to
educate yourself on the various type of faeries that may live within these areas you are walking.
In one reading of my reading on the faeries of Scotland and their folklore it tells, how you are to relate to these faerie's of Scotland, in their element- I found it interesting, but not what I believe what faeries truly are like in my own opinion but I thought it would be interesting for you all to have a different point of view:
THEY  SAID:  <Never let a fairy overhear you calling them faeries, they do not take kindly to this. They prefer to be called fairy folk and are very sensitive creatures, so do not be rude or you might suffer the consequences. Always be honest with a fairy as they will know if you have lied to them and not surprisingly they don't take kindly to that either. Wear the color 'GREEN', is also not advisable, as faeries see this as a color that belongs to them. But you will be relieved to know that not all faeries  are impatient when it comes to humans and some even try to avoid us at all costs. Faeries are the balance between good and evil>

Asrais Fairy
For myself, I feel fairies[And the Ashray could be friendly we really don't know since they are such an ancient fairy and arent' very many around now days], are mostly all very friendly if you show them kindness to nature and that you mean them now harm. I really don't feel they have any feeling on what you ware being it GREEN- and I also don't feel that if you call them faeries instead of fairy folk as long as you are kind with a sensitive voice, and treat the nature of the forest that your in they will not be mean by causing you harm. And lastly I feel that faeries Enjoy humans and are curious about us. At least the ones that are kind and good to the forests, and fields, and gardens in which they live. What I am trying to say is you really have to make up your own mind on how you feel about the Fae. I just wanted to give you an example of one person opinion,  that wasn't mind so that you could see the differences and then you can make-up your own mind.
About the Fae..
Scottish Ashray Fairies-
The Ashrays Fairies origin is from Scotland where they are also known as Asrais or water lovers
These Asrais Fairies once heavily populated Scotland's seas centuries ago, however they haven't been
seen in the recent years. These Asrais Fairies are both male and female. And their bodies are very
translucent, which gives them the appearance that they are a sea ghost fairies. They can't live on land
and are completely nocturnal. Also the can be found underwater too.
Ashrays are a water fairy found in Scotland, They are only seen at night
because sunlight will melt them into a rainbow pool of water.
Ashray Fairy
Their white bodies are almost translucent and they are often mistaken for sea ghosts.
Ashrays are both male and female and though they appear to be young looking,
they are in fact quite ancient. These faeries cannot live on land and it is
believed that they may have been cursed to live underwater.
These faeries should be approached with caution as it is not known if
they will harm humans.
I hope that you Enjoyed this post and the little discussion on Fae, where you can make your own mind
on how the Fae truly might be if you were to encounter one. I have always felt that in my own garden that I have faeries and that they are very happy and help my garden and protect my Rosy.
love you all my dear Friends and Followers Your Wendy:o)
