The Unicorn

The Unicorn-
Well I am going back the the Magick Creatures. I am to to discover the
Legendary and Mythical animal the Unicorn on a request of a dear friend who has as about these most beautiful animals..
The unicorn is a legendary and mythical creature that I've always love the
beauty of these animals. They are either pure white horse with a long or short strong horn on
its forehead. The horse has beautiful graceful form and flowing white mane and tail. I have also
seen the black unicorn and they are just a beautiful and as enchanting..
The Unicorn is truly a legendary and Mythical Creature which is a beautiful horse with a long or
short strong horn on its forehead. These Pure and Mythical Creatures usually have beautiful long
flowing mans of pure white hair or black depending of if it is a white or black Unicorn And a long
flowing tail too. Unicorns are found in many stories and myths from different parts of the world, especially China and India. Its blood and horn usually have mystical powers. In Western culture, its horn is said to have power to heal wounds and sickness, and to neutralize poisons.
In mythology and heraldry unicorn symbolizes innocence, purity and feminine power. According to some legends, the unicorn had the
hind legs of an antelope, a tail of a lion and the beard of a goat.
This is the legendary Magical Unicorn in many of the Europeans and Asian Cultures. There are even some
scientists that believe this magnificent Creature could have been a descended from a rhinoceros. Yet, of
course there are no written records being capture for the being of these magnificent creatures. And
there is probably reasons of for that because they are form a very magical place...  The earliest
description of this mythical creature is found in the works of Ctesias.
In his works he describes the unicorn as being as a horse - but much much! LARGER!, with a
long horn which is colored white, black and red. The Unicorn was also mentioned in the
works of Aristotle too. And According to Ctesias, Unicorns had lived in India - Plus the Old
Testament of the Bible mention that Unicorns lived in the "Garden of Eden".
So I of course had to check out these theory's for all of you my dears friends & followers
and this is what I found out: First I am going to address the Ctesias - belief of the Unicorn being
mention in the old Testament Bible or King James Bible.
When I went to my own Bible I didn't quite understand so I had to go on line to figure out
what this all meant for you all. I found out that there is:
Eastern Bible Dictionary Version - Unicorn described as an animal of great ferocity and strength ( Numbers 23:22 , RSV, "wild ox," marg., "ox-antelope;" 24:8 ; Isaiah 34:7 , RSV, "wild oxen"), and untamable ( Job 39:9 ). It was in reality a two-horned animal; but the exact reference of the word so rendered (reem) is doubtful. Some have supposed it to be the buffalo; others, the white antelope, called by the Arabs rim. Most probably, however, the word denotes the Bos primigenius ("primitive ox"), which is now extinct all over the world. This was the auerochs of the Germans, and the urus described by Caesar (Gal. Bel., vi.28) as inhabiting the Hercynian forest. The word thus rendered has been found in an Assyrian inscription written over the wild ox or bison, which some also suppose to be the animal intended (Compare Deuteronomy 33:17 ; Psalms 22:21 ; 29:6 ; 92:10 ).
King James Dictionary Unicorn -Wild ox.
Will the UNICORN be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib? Canst thou bind the UNICORN with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee? Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him? Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy barn? ( Job 39:9-12 )
Smith Bible Dictionary Unicorn-
the rendering of the Authorized Version of the Hebrew reem , a word which occurs seven times in the Old Testament as the name of some large wild animal. The reem of the Hebrew Bible, however, has nothing at all to do with the one-horned animal of the Greek and Roman writers, as is evident from ( 33:17 ) where in the blessing of Joseph it is said; "his glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of a unicorn ;" not, as the text of the Authorized Version renders it, "the horns of unicorns ." The two horns of the ram are "the ten thousands of Ephraim and the thousands of Manasseh." This text puts a one-horned animal entirely out of the question. Considering that the reem is spoken of as a two-horned animal of great strength and ferocity, that it was evidently well known and often seen by the Jews, that it is mentioned as an animal fit for sacrificial purposes, and that it is frequently associated with bulls and oxen we think there can be no doubt that, some species of wild ox is intended. The allusion in ( Psalms 92:10 ) "But thou shalt lift up, as a reeym , my horn," seems to point to the mode in which the Bovidae use their horns, lowering the head and then tossing it up. But it is impossible to determine what particular species of wild ox is signified probably some gigantic urus is intended. (It is probable that it was the gigantic Bos primigeniua , or aurochs, now extinct, but of which Caesar says, "These uri are scarcely less than elephants in size, but in their nature, color and form are bulls. Great is their strength and great their speed; they spare neither man nor beast when once; they have caught sight of them"www.biblestudytools.com/dictionary/unicorn/

  11. And as for Ctesias belief in the Unicorn having lived in India - Most people would say that the
    Ancient Tapestries depicting the Unicorn
Unicorns are the purest of Creatures, with their long, tapering horns, cloven hooves and graceful bodies. Originally they were thought to be like that of wispy bearded like goats, as you would see in the ancient old tapestries that  depicted the Unicorn, but today that is not as popular. In the of these Tapestries are centered  the mythical creature with the single horn protruding from its head, the unicorn story traces a myth as unique as the animal that gave it life. The Greek physician Ctesias, in the 8th century B.C., told of a creature from India whose description inspired the image of a rhinoceros with a horn that had both magical and medicinal powers. This belief created a trade on rhinoceros horn for its qualities of healing and protecting the user from poisons. The Roman naturalist Aelian (ca. AD 170-ca. AD 235), later first described the horn of the unicorn as a spiral which changed the perception of the fabled creature's protrusion from the rhinoceros horn to the narwhal tooth. Once the horn was described as a spiral, the rhinoceros horn was replaced by the narwhal tooth as one of the most sought after mythical and medicinal agents. By the 12' Century, the trade on narwhal tusk began and continues to this day. The famous Unicorn Tapestries, six from the Lady and the Unicorn hanging at the Cluny Museum in Paris and seven from the Hunt of the Unicorn at the Cloisters Museum in
    Ancient Tapestries depicting the Unicorns
New York are among the most famous and well known art works of all time. The Unicorn and its narwhal tooth protruding from the head, continues as an endless source of fascination in modern culture. Although most folks believe in the unicorns lived in Europe, Asia and India. Some people think that the horn of an unicorn has Magick powers. The most common ideas were that it finds poison and will cure sickness. The Greek physician Ctesias, 2,400 years ago. In the Year 416BC, the Physician set out for his native town of Cnidus to attend the Persian King Darius II. There the Greek physician stayed for eighteen years and studied and learned of the many wonders of the the Kings court of the time. Upon returning, he decided to write a book of his experiences which he called the Indica. In the books earliest surviving writings there was some accounts of a Unicorn - as Ctesias writes what he saw about the Mythical creature is this: The animal is said to have blue eyes, a white body and one horn on its head. Also I found that Ctesias who also wrote a book about the subject Indika', where he described the unicorn as a wild asses, fleet of foot, having a horn a cubit and a half (27 inches) in lenght and the colour is white, black and even red. And now for Aristotle, he too mentions the Unicorn too.
As I had said too the Great Philosopher Aristotle, also had words for the Unicorn too.
Early Versions of An Unicorn
It was said that his words were taken so seriously that they were widely held as
a gospel truth a thousand years later and could have destroyed the infant legend with
a single sentence, but back to my Unicorn. It seems just as Ctesias, had said in his
book about the Unicorn the Great Philosopher Aristotle had confirmed its existence
by passing the comment which though flawed in content, proved that this great man
of learning clearly believed their was such a creature too. Here is a quote of the great
Aristotle, "We have never seen an animal with a solid hoof and two horn, and there
are only a few that have a solid hoof and one horn, as the Indian As and the Oryx."
As I look more for Aristotle belief in the Unicorn I indeed found more my friends-
As he would would explain the Indian Ass in none other than the Ctesias Unicorn
and would continue to say that the Pliny the Elder in the first century AD he mentions
Unicorns by saying : " ... An exceedingly wild beast called the Monoceros, which,
has a stag's head, elephants feet, and a boar's tail, the rest of its body being like that of
a horse. It makes a deep lowing noise and one black horn two cubits long projects from
the middle of its forehead. This animal, they say, cannot be taken alive."
So As I write this post I am wondering what you all my dears are thinking?
Early Tapestries of the Unicorn
It seems that they were seen differently
than we might have thought!
Do you believe in the Unicorn? That is the Question of today?
I must tell you after doing this post and I am not finished I never thought that there
would be this much information and this much detail on one such dedicate and
magical lovely Creature as the Unicorn did YOU? Well back to my story ..
Back in the time of Aristotle there are some that have thought, maybe he
could have been confused, but thinking the creature the Unicorn was that of a
rhinoceros. How I wasn't back in those times but think about it for just a moment
my friends really! Aristotle Confused! A Unicorn looking like a Rhinoceros? The
same Creature? So what kinda drugs were they using in the day? Hummm...
An Ancient Unicorn Tapestries
Then I found another one for you all.Get this one... They say that the same
mistake could have attributed to the Roman Scholar Aelian, who happened to live some
five hundred years after Aristotle. This Roman Scholar Aelian had written a book
just like Ctesias had done. He had wrote about animals back in the day and he too
had mentioned the Unicorn quite frequently too. Now before I write done the quote
that i have found from his book. Let me ask you a question? My post is coming to
the end and I have brought you lots of information both fact and just belief ...It coming
now to What do you believe. Do you believe that the unicorn was and Still around to this
day? That is what make the world of the Unseen so wonderful...
Anyway... This is what the Roman Scholar Aelian had written in his book and I quote
" I have found that wild asses as large as horses are to be found in India.
The body of this animal is white, except on the head, which is red, while the eyes are
azure. It has a horn on the brow, about one cubit and a half in length, which is white at
the base, crimson at the top, and black between. These variegated horns are used as
drinking cups by the Indians. ...It is said that whosoever drinks from this kind of horn
is safe from all incurable diseases such as convulsions and the so-called holy disease,
and that he cannot be killed by poison."  Aelian continues-
"They say that there are mountains in the interior regions of India which are
inaccessible to men and therefore full of wild beasts. Among these is the
Unicorn, which they call the kartajan [Sanscrit: Lord of the desert]. This animal is
as large as a full-grown horse, and it has a mane, tawny hair, feet like those of an
elephant, and the tail of a goat. It is exceedingly swift of foot. Between its brows
there stands a single black horn tapering to a very sharp point. Where other
animals approach it it is gentle, but it fights with those of its own kind. It seeks
out the most deserted places and wanders there alone."
There have been other Romans such as Julius Caesar who had said he
said they could be found in the Hercynian Forest.
So As I have asked before Do You believe? I DO!!!!
Here is the link to read more and where I got some of the quotes' above
www.unicorn-dream.co.uk/unicorn2.html
It was also believed by the people in the medieval ages that the unicorn is a savage
This Is another very old Tapestries but
I like this one most of all
animal and that it can run silently thought the forests. The horn of the unicorn is said
to possesses healing abilities and if placed on a injury it would heal the would instantly.
It also says that the unicorns horn was used in ancient times to neutralize the effects of
poison in drinks and food. So hence, many of the cups were made from the unicorn's horn.  It says in legend that who ever can possess even a fragment of this horn
could prolong life of a person. And in France, till the late 18th century, it was customary
to carry a cup made from the unicorn to test whether the drinks and food were poisoned
or not. In 1577 Queen Elizabeth was presented with a narwhale's tusk. It was believed
during that period to be a unicorns horn. It is still considered as a royal treasure. And in
1994 a beautiful and carved 'horn of unicorn' was auctioned at the Christie's in London...
The Unicorn has been traced back to Pagan mythology as well as Medieval Europe.
There were even early Hebrew scriptures that also mentions the Unicorns as a biblical
beast too. In some Christian Interpretations the unicorn was associated with the Virgin
Mary and Christ. I hope that You all Enjoy my post on the Unicorn . I know it is quite
a long one. I really didn't know what I was getting into when I started this post, The
Unicorn, but I did promise a friend that requested a post on the Unicorn and It has been
a couple of months since I have been able to do this for this person. I hope that You like my dear friend... And since it is a long one I will be doing a separte post of images on the
Unicorn for all of you.. I will show a few here .. love you all very much and

head. The Gamayun is sometimes called just THE PROPHETIC BIRD.  It very much a
legendary creature in Russian folklore and it is said to be quite similar to the Phoenix that it to is
immortal too. The Russians compare it to the three prophetic birds, joining Alkonost and the Sirn. Besides being the birds of wisdom and knowledge, they are a
talking bird who can foretell the future and will tell you your fortune too. How I thought i would find

FIRST BALL
Nepogodushka cleared, menacing cloud rose. Much noise incline Dubravushka, vskolyhalas in the feather-grass. Then flew Gamayun — with ominous bird of eastern storonushki, raising a storm of wings. Flying high above the mountains, because of the dark wood flew from under the clouds of the nepogozhey.
Cine Sea it flutter, Sarachinskoe pereletyvala field. Like Rechenka fast Currants, in white stone flammable Alatyr in on apple green sadochke Gamayun-bird seat. As she sat down — was to sing, to dissolve the feathers of damp earth.
As the stone of a Alatyr collects forty-soezzhalisya prince of the kings, princes with Knyazevych forty, forty mighty warriors, forty-wise Magi. The collecting soezzhalisya, took their seats round the rows it became a bird-singer tried:
- Prophetic bird, bird wise, you know a lot, a lot knowest … Tell me, Hamayun, sing-but teach us to conceive … Why the whole world? How to conceive a red sun? Bright month and frequent star why, tell the people? And where did the winds boisterous? Erupted as dawns clear?
- Did not deny that Veda …
Before the birth of the white light was pitch darkness enveloped the world. Was in darkness only Rod — our father. Rod — a spring universe, the father of the gods.
Rod was first signed in the egg, it was the seed of neproroschennym, he was a kidney unopened. But the end came imprisonment, Rhode begat Love — Lada-mother.
Rod has destroyed the power of the prison of love, then love and peace filled.
Long suffered Rod, long puffed. And he brought the kingdom of heaven, and under it created in high places. Cut the umbilical cord of a rainbow, and separated the ocean — the sea of blue sky water solid stone. In heaven, he erected three sets. Divided light and darkness, truth from falsehood.
Rod gave birth then the Earth-mother, and went into the deep dark earth, buried it in the ocean.
Then the sun came out of his face — the Rod of heaven, grandparents and father of the gods!
Month of light — from his chest — the Rod of heaven, grandparent and father of the gods!
Star parts — from his eyes — the Rod of heaven, grandparent and father of the gods!
Dawns clear — from his brow — the Rod of heaven, grandparents and father of the gods!
Dark night — but from his thoughts — the Rod of heaven, grandparents and father of the gods!
Winds boisterous — out of breath — the Rod of heaven, grandparents and father of the gods!
Rain and snow, and hail — from her tears — the Rod of heaven, grandparents and father of the gods!
Thunder with lightning — his voice became — the clans of the heavenly, the progenitor and father of the gods!
Rod was born to love heaven and all under heaven. He — the father of the gods, he and the mother of the gods, he — a born and born again.
Rod — all the gods, and all the Celestial Empire, he — what was and what will be, that is born and what is born.
Rhode begat Svaroga heaven and breathed into him his mighty spirit. Four gave him his head, that he — the world examined in all directions, so that nothing of it did not escape, all he noticed in high places.
Svarog was the way the sun break through the heavens blue to-day horses raced across the sky, after the morning to start the day and on the day shift — flew overnight.
Svarog the sky began to pace, began to take a look at their holdings. See — the sun in the sky is rolling month sees the light, and the stars, and behind it stretches ocean and waves, foam foam. He looked around his possession, but did not see the Earth-mother.
- Where is the mother earth? — Sad.
Then he said — a small dot in the ocean-sea black. That is not a point in the sea turning black, it's gray duck floats, foam sulfur generated. At sea, swims like a needle on spinning, in one place does not sit, do not — all poskakivaet and turns.
- Do not you know where Earth is? — Was tortured Svarog sulfur duck.
- Earth beneath me — she says, — buried deep in the ocean …
- At the behest of Rod heavenly-like! On earth you desire Svarog Obtain from the depths of the seas!
Said no duck in ocean-sea dove, a year in the deep hidden. As the year came to an end — to rise from the bottom.
- I did not have the spirit of a little bit, I do not swim to Earth a bit. Volosok nedoplyla I just …
- Help us, Rod! — Here called Svarog.
Then rose winds boisterous, blue sea … much noise the wind blew Rhode force in duck.
And he said Svarog gray duck:
- At the behest of Rod heavenly-like! On earth you desire Svarog Obtain from the depths of the seas!
Said no duck in ocean-sea dove and two years in the deep hidden. As the term is over — has risen from the bottom.
- I did not have the spirit of a little bit, I do not swim to Earth a bit. On polvolosa nedoplyla I …
- Help me, Father! — Cried out here Svarog.
Then rose winds boisterous, and the sky went menacing clouds, a great storm broke, the voice of Rod — thunder shook the heavens, and lightning struck the duck. Rod breathed by virtue of the great storm of Grozny in sulfur duck.
And sworn Svarog sulfur duck:
- At the behest of Rod heaven, on-request like! Svarog, you Obtain the Earth from the depths of the seas!
Said no duck in ocean-sea dove and three years in the deep hidden. As the term is over — has risen from the bottom.
In its beak, it has brought a handful of earth.
Svarog took a handful of earth, was in his hands to knead.
- Heating a minute, Red Sun, highlighted a minute, month, Light, a hand, winds boisterous! We will sculpt the land of raw earth-mother, mother a nurse. Help us, Rod! Fret, help!
Land crumples Svarog — warm sun, moon shone and the winds blow. The winds blew the earth with his hands, and dropped it in the sea of blue. The sun warmed her Red — clotted cheese on top of the Earth crust, then it cooled Month light.
So Svarog created the Earth-mother. Three underground vault he would be set up — three underground, pekelnyh kingdom.
And to land in the sea is gone again, Rod begat underneath Yushu powerful — snake wondrous, mnogosilnogo. Hard to share — to keep him many thousands of years the Earth-mother.
Thus was born the Cheese Mother Earth. So on Zmee she reposed. If Yusha-dragon wiggled — Mother Earth Cheese bends.
