~Nymphs~

~Nymphs~
So I thought I would do another post on the Greek Nymphs, but
Nymph
this one is going to be much more in detail and so much more
info on the Nymphs. I hope that you all my dears will all find
it interesting and fun to read. For I am going to put quite a bit
of information in this post for you all. So first of all the most obvious question? What is
a Nymphs? Well they are like fairies if you will of sorts, but they can be very unpredictable, a little
scary and they seem more human like too. They is one thing that I can tell you that makes
them different from a fairy and that is they come from different cultures, plus they are entirely
different than a fairy- 1) Nymphs are only women [fairies can be both men, women, and children too].  There was a diffident reason for the
Nymphs to be only women and that was their sexuality. I thing that is why there was never any men or child nymphs. If you noticed in most in all mythology of the Greek or of another culture of the women nymphs it is the common theme. By using their beauty, their sexuality, chastity and that adds up to a scary Nymph at times. If you really think about it, in  folklore and mythology of these spirit women of the waters, it really shouldn't shock you that when every time they get involved with a mortal man or men and sex enters the picture, which it always does with these alluring beautiful & sexual Nymphs something very scary always seems to happen. I should also note that all Nymphs whether it be water, earth, tree, etc all are personifying nature and are protectors of Nature.
I will cover I hope many of the more famous Nymph women who are often associated with nature and
the wildness as things beyond the control of 'civilization'. As I have said before that it is only women that are
the Nymphs, but I must say this: even these spirits of nature can have children. Yet they are not Nymphs like that of their birth mother. Because the fact is these Nymphs often have or not of their own choosing have lovers of the Gods. Nymphs, like all females deities are quite beautiful more than even some of the female Goddesses. When they aren't inhabiting some specific part of nature, they are often the attendent of more important deities of the Gods. In some ways they are both God like/ and human like all wrapped up in a Nymph. I am going to go thru as many as I can below and I hope you all will Enjoy the post my dear
friends and followers. love you all Wendy..
Amnisiades-These were the nymphs of the Amnisus river in Crete. They were also devotees of the
Goddess Artemis. They care for the the Goddess' sacred deer.
Anigrides-Are the nymphs of the Angridus River in Elis and
they are healers. They had a grotto at the river and folks with
skin diseases would come to bath there and gave the nymphs gifts in hopes that they'd get better
from their illness.
Dodonides-These Nymphs were brought to a
site by Zeus, that was one of the most ancient oracle sites in Greece.
Dryades- The Dryades were the Nymphs of the Forest,
woods and woodlands. The Dryades were immortal, unlike the Hamadryades who actually
lived within the Oak trees or the many different kinds of trees the Hamadryade Nymphs they
were in ancient times. These type of Nymph would die when the tree died or if there was a fire
or if there the tree was plauge with illness.
Epimeliades- These nymphs were the Protectors of the
Sheep.
Haliai- The Haliai were another type of sea nymph. Their name
was a bit uncommon as yet, but Haliai come from the word
Sea and also means Salt.
Hamadrayades- These are as I had meant above, a type
of tree nymph. The nymphs life force is connected to the
tree itself. She lives and breathes within the tree. plus they
can be very powerful if angered. If her tree is hurt, then
she/the hamadryad gets hurt. If her tree gets cut down, then
the hamadryad will died.
Hespirides- This was three sisters nymphs whose father was
Hesperos God of the Evening Star/ they guarded the Tree of the
Golden Apples. Their names were- Aegle, Eritheia, and Hesperia.
Naiades- The naiades nymphs were of the freshwater streams, rivers, lakes, ponds, fountains
actully there was no limited to these naiades nymphs. Many of the Naiades could be found
prancing around with Artemis who chose up to 20+ Naiades from Amnisus for his companions.
Of course they were all the daughters of the rivergods. They all had extremely long lifetimes, but
they were not considered immortal and were believed to have sat on the Gods discussions on Mount
Olympus. Note there were 5 different types of Naiades:
Pegaiai- Nymphs of Springs
Krinaia- Nymphs of Fountains
Potameides- Nymphs of Rivers and Streams
Limnatides- Nymphs of Lakes
Eleionomai- Nymphs of Marshes
Nereides- As for the Nereides Nymphs there were more than fifty daughters of Nereus God
of the Sea and Goddess Doris. The Nereides had one very famous Nymph and that happened to be
Amphitrite. There was a storie About the Amphitrite and the Island of Naxos in anicent Greece; It is
said that when the Nereides including the Sea Nymph Amphitrite had performed a dance on the island
of Naxos the God Poseidon decided to claim Amphitrite as to be his bride.
Nyseides- This is an interesting one! These were the Nymphs in Greek Mythology that were to have
lived on Mount Nysa. As to the Mount Nysa & its where abouts I couldn't find [ I might just have to come to this post at a later date to write each of these different Nymphs in more detail when I have  more
time]. At any rate these Nyseides Nymphs that suppose to have lived on this mount Nysa had  raised the
young Dionysus after he was stashed there up on the mount by Zeus after his thigh-birth. As for the names
of these Nyseides Nymphs there were quite a few of them- Here are a few that I could find for you
my dears: Cisseis, Nysa, Erato, Eripha, Brome and Polyhymno.
Oceanides- Well, if you thought the Nereides had a lot of sisters/ like that of the Nereides Nymphs of
the Sea - Fifty Daughters, the Oceanides Nymphs were 3,000 strong. And they were all the
Nymphs of the Ocean. Their mother was that of Titaness(Tethys) and their father was the Titan of all the Oceanus.
Oreades- These were the Nymphs of the Mountains, of course there was one in particular that
you would reconized and that would be the beautiful Mountain Nymph of Echo.
Thriai- This was an very interesting one of all the nymphs that I discovered and that is because the
Thriai are the Bee-Nymphs who used honey to make prophesies. Apparently there were three of these
Bee-Nymphs & they all had raised Apollo, God of the Oracle of Delphi. There is much more too these Bee-Nymphs but as I said before I will come back and reblog this post again my dear friends and followers:o)
Arethusa- The Nymph called Arethusa was one of many
water Nymphs who attended Artemis. This Nymph was a Virgin Goddess and she had not
interest in men. So when the River God Alpheus pursued her, Arethusa the Nymph goddess of virginity asked for help - Artemis helped her by turning her into a fountain. Although the River God Alpheus,
could not be denied her so he changed himself to the flow underground so that he could touch her. I'll tell
you these Gods of the Greek times are kinda crazy when it comes to loveeeeeeeee!
Well I hope you found this post to be interesting as I have
I do plan to Reblog this because I believe there is lots of info
for me to come back here, I just have to get the energy to get all these
differnt Nymphs and spend a day or two at it but be suprised
Here a few images of Nymps for YOU!

one day I will have it for you all:o) As for how I hope you
l like my short version it will I hope keep you for coming for
more Eh! Hehehehehe!!! I do love you all my dears,  friends and followers
I couldn't do any of this without YOU!

Laminak Faeries

Laminak Fairies-
Well I have found another type of fairy but I don't know if
I will be able to find a image for you my dears friends and followers.. These fairies are very rare, live underground in beautiful castles.
Although I thougt you might like this one that might give you and idea of
what they might look like...
First of all, I found that the Laminak Fairies are said to be not much different than
the Celtic faeries of Scotland, Ireland,Welsh and Cornish faeries. In fact the legends are often
very similar. This for me personally is rather odd, because the faeries of the land of the Celtic's is very
different to most fairies in my research that I have done over the years. These Laminak faeries origins are from France and Spain which if you think about is very different than that of the Celtic plans of the lands of
Ireland, Scotland, and Welsh too. As you read on you might see some other comparison that might not
Truly be that of the Celtic faeries, but this of course is my own opinion.
As I have said before the Laminak faeries live underground in castles in Spain and France. The
women fairies will appear if you see them a beautiful women that are eloquently dress-
Like the sirens of Greek Myths, the Laminaks sit by the shore combing their long hair that is almost as light
as the sun with a comb. There are some people that believe that the Laminaks sit on the other side of the
rainbow and that the rainbow itself  was created when these beautiful Laminak faeries comb their
very long sun like hair. These beautiful faeries are generally very seductive and know how to
tempt the human men. Some have said: if you gave them gifts they would happily accept them and in
return they would help you with any type of work that was needed. This of course would not be the
beautiful women with the golden hair, but would be the general group of the Laminak faeries that they would get as the helpers to work. What these Laminak faeries would do is help the farmers tend the fields, then in return the farmers would provided them with food- So at night the Laminak faeries would plough any part of the fields that the farmers had left unattended. Then Laminaks who only worked at night, but as soon as
they saw that dawn was coming they went back down into the underground castles.
The Laminak Fairies are also known to be very good a building bridges and even church's in ancient times.
Most of the Laminak faeries as the Legends goes, long to possession humans. So what they will do is climb down the humans chimney and shapeshifter than carry off the humans infants unbaptized infants for their own - but never injury them. These faeries can also bring good luck to the house which is quite frequent; as they are fond of cleanliness which I found to be very odd and kinda creepy just for the fact that they often shapeshifter to steal human infants, but they'll also give your house good luck by frequently cleaning too.
That just seem to wierd to me as being a nice fairy. Although I did discover there is an catch to these faeries
in them cleaning you house eh! You have to always speak out these chores that you would like to be done and give the orders in word exactly the opposite of their meaning for them to do the cleaning..  Once you have figured this out if you want to give them a payment of some kind they will never take it because they will defauded the payment which was to have been power over some human soul at the completion of the work.
Well My dears this was a very interesting and rather odd and
kinda fairy that I don't think that I myself would want to
run into personally. As with all creature of the Fae there are
the darkside shades of gray and the good side I would
call these faeries a shade of gray myself personally
as in any culture you have that so why wouldn't
you have the same in the magick world.
I hope you Enjoyed my lasted story
I love you very much .. So sorry it took me a bit to get back
into writing again  I wish you all a wonderful week ahead
Your Wendy.

-Plant Native flowering Plants
-Tell  a friend. Educate your neighbors
and community about how
pollinators may be in trouble.
1,000- About a thousand plants we rely on

those that grow our food, beverages,
spices and Medicines!
Think Coffee & Chocolate!
75- An overwhelming proportion of flowering
plants at least 75% depend on pollinators for
fertilization.
9- Nine common creatures are considered
pollinators - birds, bats, butterflies, moths,
flies, beetles, wasps, small mammals
and Bees! Other animals as well as the wind
can carry pollen from flower to flower too!

dedicated to protection of pollinators and their
ecosystems says that some species have
seen a 90% population decline in the last
decade. Honey Bee's are of the most
particular Concern!
2- We need a pollination refresher?
Its the movement of pollen from one flower to a second,
and essential step for plants/ flowers/herbs and fruit trees to
develop fruit and the seeds needed

Gnomes

Gnomes-
Garden Gnome
I have always love Gnomes. I think it brings me back to my
childhood. My mum would read to me about the Gnomes, Fairies and Dragons as a child; And I think I've
never out grown those days. In fact I think I've embraced them the older I have gotten. That's how
I came up with the idea of my blog over a year ago. I just didn't know that it would be as popular as
it has become. And that is all because of YOU! my dearest Friends and Followers. I am so happy
that I have been able to make a blog that has been a place of calm and relaxation for all.
The Gnome well they have been many things to many people all over the world and the have be
drawn many different ways too. I hope in this post to honor these wonderful magical creatures. The gnome is a diminutive spirit with
Renaissance magick and alchemy. Their Origins is believed to be originating in Scandinavia, Gnomes later migrated to the lowlands some 1500 years ago. They are a mythical creature who are known mostly for their extremely small size and subterranean lifestyle. They build complex underground homes, usually in the base of trees or small hills that are easy to hollow out. These all have many escape tunnels thought out the underground home so if needed the family could hide or escape from larger animals. The Gnomes take great care of the woodland creatures when they are injured, in return they have
Forest Gnome
great relations with the smaller or medium size animals. An gnome can live over the age of 500years, reaching their middle age between 250-350 years of age. Gnomes do marry, and almost always have twins. The families get no larger that having 2children. They say that Gnomes are a peaceful, helpful mythical creatures and also can live in old homes and barns, helping the families who reside within.

Forest Gnome
As far as their appearance the Gnomes are usually on average only a foot tall [15 centimeters tall], but with their cap that they always ware the Gnome can appear much taller. As for their feet they have always been known to be have fur or hair on the top of their feet and that fact that their feet are somewhat pigeon toed which gives them an extra edge on speed and agility through the woods and grassy valley'sThey also keep them warm during to cold spell in the higher parts of the woodlands. As for either of the Gnomes weighs it can range for the males to the females, in the males they can weight up to 300 grams, and the females 250-275 grams. (sorry for the folks that don't know grams to foot or feet like myself. I couldn't find it in that contexts) Now what the Gnomes ware, well it really depends on who your talking too and what culture too. They have been known to ware the basic peaked red cap, blue grown-reen pants and either felt
boots, birch shoes or wooden clogs. Around his waist is a belt with a tool kit attached is a holding
knife, hammer an many other tools as the male gnomes. Typically for both they are said to be
very fair faced, though the  boast or rosy red cheeks, Males with their long beards that adorn their faces
and turn gray far sooner than their hair. The females ware gray or khaki clothing, consisting of a blouse and
skirt to their ankles. She also has black-gray knee socks and high shoes or slippers. Now before she gets married, sh dons a green cap. Before a female gnome gets married she will let her hair hang down, the
outfit is complemented by a greencap and braids. Later the long braids will disappear under a scarf while the green cap is replaced by more sober tones after she marries.
Forest Gnome
There are different Races of Gnomes- And the most common is the Forest Gnome
who are rarely seen or have any contact with humans. The Garden Gnomes live in old ancient gardens
and enjoy telling melancoly tales of the ancient gnomes past. Dune Gnomes  are slightly larger than their
woodland breathren cousins and choose remarkably drab clothing to ware. The House Gnomes
have the most knowledge of man/humans, often speaking his language. It is from this family that we
come to the Gnome Kings are chosen. Farm Gnomes resemble their House brethern cousins, but
are more conservative in manners and dress. Lastly are the Siberian Gnomes which have been more
interbred than any of the other Gnomes and associated freely with the trolls. They are much larger than
any of their brethern cousins and have a infinately more nasty nature to them. It is best never to evoke the ire
of such Gnomes for they delight in revenge.
I found that there was a great deal of myth folklore on the Gnome which was wonderful
being the fact that it is one of my favorite creature. It is said that Gnomes are widespread magick creature
and known to the human race quite well. The Germans name the Gnomes - 'Erdmanleins', except in the Alpine areas, where they are called Heinzemannchens. In Denmark and Norway they call
the Gnomes Nisse - In Sweden the Gnome is called - Nissen. In Brittany they call the Gnomes
Nains. And in Iceland they are called - Tontti, Finns and Foddenskkmaend. The Polish call
the Gnomes by their familiar name gnome. However the Bulgaria and Albania call them Dudje-
In Hungary, Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia called Gnomes Mano's. The Dutch called them
Kabouter - And the Belgian would call them Skritek. In Switzerland and Luxembourg they were called Kleinmanneken which means 'littlemen'. And finally in western Russia they called gmomes
Domovoi Djedoes.  Gnomes are basically are humanoid fairies of a minuscule size. Gnomes are often compared to their far removed cousin the dwarfs, but unlike the dwarfs who are always mining for treasure of the earth and acquiring wealth of gold and gems, the gnomes obsession is with the wealth that brings them the wealth of the very bowels of Earth that they stand on!there is the exception to the rule, some gnomes that do interact with humans regularly are a troublesome subspecies as they call them known as Garden Gnomes-  They would burrow in soft soil, feed mainly on root and are kleptomaniac. Due to this; they infest gardens and are little if not nothing more than pests. Of course this is only one person opoion, I believe if I were to meet one they would be that way in my garden..
As for their Power - Most Gnomes ar 7 times stronger that a human man, can run at speeds of
35 miles per hour, and have better sight than a hawk. These abilites help the Gnome to do many
things , such as find woulded, dying animals for which they feel they are responible for. Because
of their love for the animals. All the amimals of the forest are the Gnomes friends and are willing to help him at any time. Many people say that gnomes have elevated practical jokes to an art form. but most especially they love the earth and animal and family.

I hope you all enjoy my new post on the Gnome
It has been on of my favorite since a child
I love you all my dear friends and followers
much love to you all
