The Elves-
There are many different writing on the originality of the 

Elves. The problem with that is; the elves themselves aren't sure of their exact origins because, some say all was lost in the dawn of time. Others have their own opinion, where their forefathers origins came from. It's almost impossible in my opinion because there are so many different races of Elves, just like any race of the humans.The Elves are a quiet people and lived a very long time ago. The few that are still living among us, well they are in the deepest forest, caves and ice mountains, to be a few places. They are in deep hiding and really don't trust us for good reasons in my option.  Even though they have said to have lived before time - they are still here today...
This is only one opinion of many that I have found in my studies of the Elves. But one thing that does not change in my thoughts of the mystery  around the Elves, fairies, dragons and all magical creatures that are Unseen! They are all real and live today, just not in the way that you might think.  Also I believe that the Elves and Faeries choose who they want to see them too... 

ELFIN LIFESPAN:
Elves lifespan is very different when it comes to the many different groups of Elves...as for their sexual maturity, this too is very different when it comes to comparing human/elf. But there are even some differences among the different groups of Elves too.
As far as the differences with each of  the different Elfin Life spans groups-being that there are so many of them, it would be too hard to, but all the life spans in just one group...but for the most part they all lived every long time... Some could be even in hiding today...
The few exceptions for these groups - Drows, Ghost Elves & possibility the Wood Elves  

PREGNANCY:

Well it's a curious thing about pregnancy with Elves because they are magical creatures. So it's going to be different, the question is how much different than a human mother...well they do not need to carry a fetus in their womb for nine months. 
The Elves on the other hand will carry the Elf-fetus for one year,  but hence fewer pregnancies.
Too bad we didn't' t have a chat with the elves on this subject thousands of years ago and we wouldn't be in such problems with our Planet... 

Family:

The families are quite different for each group of  Elves...
 The groups that are the most different from the surface- the elves of the  valleys, forests, mountains and even the snow elves...
Would be the Drows- 
Most of the surface world [Elves that live not in the dark caves etc.] know very little about the society of the dark Elves - Drows. Only a few exception's that have decided to live on the surface after living underground with the Drows or Dark elves for many years and these elves usually aren't the most friendly type.  
The Society of The Drow/Dark Elves is dominated by female Drow. Their Goddess is the Lolth the Spider Queen, males are subservient and slaves, warriors, or assassins. The Drow do have families but, not what you would think... In fact the drow society is frequented by having upheavals, relations among the drow are usually more complex than a typical family. The head of the family is a patron goddess of the drow- and is average families of the drow it is still a female drow. I go more into the life of the drow in other posts if you are interested... 

CRAFTS:

Poisons and toxins are favorites of the Drows, especially a powerful knockout poison made from a slippery black fungus that only grows in a certain area of the deep caverns called the 'Underdark'. Others poisons can be made from purple worms, scorpions and many different kinds of spiders. The Drow favor a mithral chain armor when it is available, but will always wear non-restrivtive armors that will not hamper their natural dexterity. They also favor fast weapons like rapiers and will choose hand  crossbows when possible, to deliver their poisons from a distance...

Magic:
It is common for a Drow to place magical symbols or glyphs outside their homes, which can ward off intruders. These home defense with the glyphs are only one of the three types of that can be used...the others are a ways of marking ancient ruins and sacred glyphs. The drow loves magical items of all kinds and all-powerful families give some enchanted items to those who we service them.

Well my dears, I have done quite a few different Races on the
 Fairies and Dragons. So I thought I would continue to research on the Elves and their kinship race too.
When I went on my quest to find the Fire Elves it wasn't that easy I must say... but I did find a little bit
of information on these rare kinship race the Fire Elves... The Fire Elves are quite different than their
cousin kinship Elves. They at one time many decades ago were a proud Elfin tribe not Elfin race to our
foreign world of humans. Fire Elves at the times to the ancient times would live a very peaceful live with
many other tribes of Fire Elves that were just like themselves. They had kept hidden in the depths of the

the darkest forests after the Crown Wars and had made their own homes & laws among themselves. The Fire Elves Appearance is very difference compared to their Elfin kin..their skin doesn't have the color of pure fire, as well as their hair. It looks just like regular skin but if anyone other that a fire elf were to their skin it could diffidently kill you.  Their eyes look like glowing pieces of coal or red glowing eyes of fire.  Fire elves are totally immune to fire, and in addition they are strong magicians, especially for fire magic. Physically they aren’t really strong, and they don’t even have the highest vitality, but intelligence and willpower make them good magicians. For their nature water is their biggest enemy – it is able to kill them, and rainy weather forces them to hide their skin under thick cloaks, because every single drop ‘burns’ their skin. Crossing a river would be an impossibility, unless they can’t walk over water or there’s no bridge. And believe me, any water WILL kill them within seconds! In addition they do have a weakness against frost. From  my research of the Fire Elves it seems that after the dark elves, drows, shadow elves, ghost elves, night elves or shur-drows, followed these rules] . This is how later the Fire elves became after the last of the Elfin wars. They had to studied the arcane fire power in secret and some of them got really obsessed about it.

think they were sometimes even more harsh than us humans ...So You are probably wondering what was their judgement Eh! Well .. It seems that all  the Fire Elves that were involved were banished from this world -EARTH - TO ANOTHER WHICH I COULD FIND OUT WHAT IT WAS...BUT I AM SURE IT WASN'T A NICE PLACE PLUS THEY WERE CURSED . AND THE CURSE WAS UNBREAKABLE UNTIL THEIR DEATH. THE CURSE WAS A TRULY EVIL ONE BECAUSE IT WOULD TRANSMITTED TO ANY CHILDREN THEY HAD AND OF COURSE GRANDCHILDREN TOO. IT WOULD CONTINUE UNTIL THEIR FAULT IS WARN OUT. YET THEIR NEVER EVER HAVE THE CHANCE TO RETURN TO EARTH THEIR NATIVE HOME LAND...

substance to it. Even their hair was like fire flowing in the air.  Their body's had such a incredible intense heat that would come from what skin they kinda had left that it was very hard for their cousins Elfin kinship to
even stay near them for fear of being badly burned. Besides the fact that they couldn't be by their kinship Elfin cousin or anyone else for that matter, they would have to learn to fear things they once had loved....
Let me explain... You see before they could walk about just like everybody else but just where heavy cloaks

with caps that would protect them from the elements - Yes rain snow ice wind etc.. Rain would be their biggest enemies now! It would burn their skin just like fire would burn others. That was for all those who died in the fires on Earth for their punishment and their curse. So the old wise men gave them this new magick power of fire, now they need to learn how to use it since they wanted it so much before in their old world, now in their new world they would have to learn why they like it and how to survive and make a new home on this new planet with other elfin kin that they cannot touch. Well I learned quite a 

bit from doing this post on the Fire Elves ... mostly that Even the Elves had to learn the hard 

way that with Great power comes Great responsibility ... And in the End they were 

Punished by their very on people... In ways were aren't that much different in some ways

THE ELDER TREE-
These trees will offer protection to all fairies from negative or evil spirits. 
THE ELDERBERRY TREE-
The Elderberry Tree is considered fairly wine. If you are able to get your hands on some of this Elderberry wine it is said you are enable to see fairies.  Adding dried elderberries to a incense mixture will attract fairies to an area of gathering place. 
HAWTHORN TREE-
The Hawthorn Tree is also known as the Witches Tree. Along with the Oak and Ash Trees. When they are grown naturally together these three trees will make a natural place where faeries can be easily seen.
A grove of these trees is believed to be a perfect habitat for fairies, and an excellent place to catch sight of them. Pixie Pears is another name for the Hawthorn berries. They were once used to decorate Maypoles. At one time it was believed that Witches could transform themselves into the Hawthorn tree. Witches have long danced and performed their rites beneath these grand trees both in ancient times and present. The Hawthorn trees has long been use to increase fertility, because of this power it is incorporated into many weddings, especially in the spring. The Goddess Brigit who holds a hawthorn branch or wand is said to increase fertility, that is why you always see her holding the branch.
The Hawthorn is said to protect you against lightning, and in the house in which it resides, no evil ghost may enter. It is also powerful for protecting against damage to the house form storms. In the past most Witch gardens contained at least one Hawthorn hedge or tree.
OAK TREE-    
The Oak Tree is the King of the forest for all fairies and elves and is a safe haven for all

magical creatures. Oakmen are created when an Oak stump sends up shoots and One should never take food offering by the Oakmen, as it is poisonous. fairies cherish the Great Oak Trees and use the acorns from the great Oak Trees for decoration, celebrations, clothing apparel, such as hats and other such things. Even their leaves are used a celebrations.  
Most fairies will live in the Great Oaks and their entire families too. It is said over the centuries that hundreds of faeries have been found to live in the Ancient Oak.
There are fairies that live in every Oak tree, the health of the surrounding environment plays a major role in determining the number of fairies that actually inhabit the Great Oak Tree. 
ASH TREE-
The Ash Tree has healing powers in fairy folklore and the Ash Tree is said to be a sacred tree to the Druids. The Ash Tree was used in making wands for healing, general or solar magic. And old fairy tale that was believed by many in ancient times, was if a child was ill with crooked bones and they pass through a young Ash Tree. And if the tree grew tall and straight, the child will be cured of their crooked bones.
Apple Tree- 
The Apple Tree was regarded as the fruit of immortality in Celtic Mythology. The Welsh "Avalon" means 'Apple Island'. The fruit or bark of apple trees can be used in fairy magic, especially for love spells. 
Blackthorn Tree- 
These Trees are in creating magick wands. Magic wands made from a Blackthorn Tree can be used for many purposes. When a Blackthorn wand is carried, and it is confronted with evil, it will protect the user of the wand. 
Holly Tree-
The Holly is an excellent protective herb, it will protect you from lighting, poison and evil spirits. If you plant it around your home it will also protect it inhabitants. 
Magick Faerie Flower's-
Heather is a flower- that lights the flame of fairies passions and may open the gates

between the fairy world and our world. Make an offering of Heather on the eve of "Beltane" to attract fairies into your garden. 
Pansies-
The Pansy may be used in may different fairy love potions. 
Peony Seeds-
These seeds are known to protect children from the dark fairies. You just make a necklace of the seeds and put it around your child's neck.
Poppies-

You can take a nap among the faeries when you are in a field of Poppies. If you want to have the faeries truly join you wear a sprig of Thyme- to increase your ability to see the wee ones in the beautiful fields of Poppies. 
Thyme-
It is also said if you plant thyme by the doors and windows of your home it will invite the faeries to come into your home.
Roses-
Well Roses my favorite flower. Also the faeries too. The faeries love the sweet smells of the soft petals of the Rose. They are mostly attracted to the scented roses.

If you have roses in your garden you will be sure to have faeries too. They use the petals too for a popular love spell. If you Sprinkle rose petals under your feet and dance on them softly while asking the faery for a blessing on your magic.

Butterfly Fairies are sometimes called the moss people which I have done a done a post some
time ago on. Since I wasn't able to get as much information on the Butterfly fairies I thought
I would included the moss People post for you folks that hadn't had a chance to read the post.

May be found in dense woodlands in the summer in 

Germanic Lands and Switzerland. They are beautiful

creatures with Butterfly wings & lithe bodies.

Other names for them are Butterfly faeries &flying leaves.

They are shy of people and it is not known how to contact them.

But they are good luck to have around. So try calling to to them 

in a friendly voice and offer them some fresh milk

Originally the Butterfly Fairy were from Switzerland and possibility Germany too.

Some have said that they've even come from the Islands and Africa too.   These lovey

creatures have the most beautiful butterfly wings that are attached to their bodies. Some of 

the wings are so detailed in different colours, that if you were able to see these amazing

fairies, you would see colors you had never seen before and would probably be in a hypnotic 

trans just by watching them flutting around you!

They come in both female and male forms that are slender and very

human like. They are

quite shy. And as I said before human sightings are very rare, especially as more woodland

areas are disappearing very year to developments. They are leery of us and will avoid us when

every possible. They often mistaken for butterflies (real) especially the Monarch.  They are experts at hiding and like to hid in mossy,

dark areas. They generally don't aid human like that of other 

fairies and some Elves, but it they come to trust you 

You! are in good luck to have one of these beautiful Faeries

around. Should you happen upon a butterfly fairy. Move 

very very! slowly and make no attempt to 

capture them. Let them know that you are are friend

and mean them no harm.

So next time you go into your garden take care when you 

happen to see any butterflies, you might just might have a very

sly and timid butterfly faery in your flowers, If you do

Next to the Woodland fairies, the Flower fairies and 

other garden faeries are the most popular and most common. 

These spirits have been playing in our gardens since the first ones 

where ever planted, and reports of the fey folk have come in 

from all over the European countries, including the far eastern 

and Southern Hemisphere too. In short, they are very much

common legend all over the world.

Ask any avid gardener about these fairies and 

although they may have not seen one as yet but they 

all truly believe that these shy beauty's are more likey if seen 

to be in the brush or less tended areas of a garden. These are the 

places we haven't gotten around to weeding yet, where they climb roses and

run amuck you could say! And this is 

where the Butterfly fairies prosper. In fact, it si widely believed that 

you can tell a fairy by the color of they butterfly, as some are simply butterlies in disguise!

The areas that we consider weeds are the best places for the fairies to live in our

gardens, along with the smaller animals of the garden, like moles, turltes, and mice. These fairies 

that live at the edge of our gardens and venture in to play, sing and look for the little bowls of sugar and 

sweets that Grandma told you to leave out for them.

If you want to leave out offerings of bowls of sugar in your gardens It just might bless

your garden and bring it a good harvest of vegetables and blooms from the fairies. This is 

why its so important to leave a little area of your garden untouched if you can and set out 

offering for your farieis. And if you follow some of th 16th to 17th century steps,

You may see the little garden fairies that may live in your garden!

And helpful note;On the night of June 21st, midsummer night, the fairies can speak the tongue of humans for a time, and so this is your best choice for trying to see them. Look for them in their fairy rings (a circle of twelve flowers where none should grow) or in a grove of mushrooms at the edge of the woods. In Italy, the traditional fairy night is January 6th (twelve nights) and of course, May Day.
