Happy 4th July Watermelon Lemonade-2015

HAPPY 4th of JULY~
Watermelon Lemonade-2015
Good afternoon my dearest friends & followers, gosh its so hot here in
Washington State almost 90+ degree's and climbing. They say that it will get to the mid 90's today on the 4th of July
I hope you like the fun drinks I found for you all. I read a few of you wanted a non-alcoholic drink and I think I found the perfect one...
How about Watermelon lemonade! So How about Watermelon Lemonade for you inspiration for the Day!

So here are the ingredient & directions for the
Watermelon Lemonade~
1/4 cup [2-ounces] fresh-squeezed lemon juice-[6-7 lemons]
1/2 cup [4-ounces] fresh watermelon puree, strained through a coarse strainer to remove all seeds.[1 medium watermelon]
3 Tablespoons [1 1/2 ounces] simple syrup
3/4 cup [6 ounces] cold water

This Watermelon Lemonade will make enough to fill two glasses with ice
cubes; You can quadrupled the amount to fill a pitcher. These are the
Ingredients that you will need to do that;
1/4 cup [2-ounces] fresh-squeezed lemon juice[6-7 lemons]
1/2 cup [4-ounces] fresh watermelon puree, strained through a coarse strainer to remove all seeds[1 medium watermelon]
 3 tablespoons [1 1/2 ounces] simple syrup*
Make your own simple syrup:
The syrups in the stores are so bad & too sweet so give this a try I am sure you will love it.
1-Simmer one part water with one part sugar until the sugar has all dissolved. Let sugar completely cool.[ you can use any kinda sugar you would like it just depends on the taste you're looking for. [Theres- white sugar, light & dark brown sugar those would be some good ones to try]. However, I would choose the either light or brown sugar because they have a more rich flavor.

Note: If you do a cup of each ingredient, you will have the quadrupled amount to fill a pitcher.
1-cup fresh squeezed lemon juice[6-7 lemons]
1-cup fresh watermelon puree strained through a coarse strainer to remove all seeds[1 medium watermelon]
1-cup homemade syrup*
1-Cup very cold water
Stir it all together and serve over lots of ice. Garnish with a thin piece of watermelon or lemon wedge if you like.
Another fancy Spritzy variation to the July 4 Beverage is a more bubbly way is by swapping 1/4 cup or more of the ice water with a seltzer or sparkling water.
For those few that would like a bit of bite to your lemonade you always can add your fav' liquor to your own glass so everyone else can enjoy the simple cool lemonade.
I hope that you all have a happy Forth of July & a lovely

Saturday afternoon. I love you all very much too

Summer Drinks For July-2015

Summer Drinks for July-2015
Up in Flames - Summer Drink
Good afternoon my dearest friends & followers, gosh its so hot here in
Washington State almost 90' degree's and climbing. They say that it will get to the mid 90's today. So I thought I would give you all a great summer drinks, I myself can't drink them but they're fun to look for all of You! I have to drink non-alcoholic so that's pretty much non-alcoholic beer/wine.
I hope you like the fun drink I found for you all. It is a layed drink so it is a bit more difficult to make but very cool looking and it sounds very good too. Once you get the layering technique down [a baster works perfectly], you'll be hooked on these kinda layering drinks and the gorgeous flavors and stunning colors. Of course, you can always try these without the alcoholic so that you can make fun drinks for your kids or for folks like me that can't drink... Heheheh.
The drink will make a 1 2.25 oz shot.
So it's a quick cool drink I will be adding another drink that is a bit bigger too.
What you will need;
1/2-ounce ginger liqueur
3/4-ounce fresh orange juice strained to remove the pulp.
1/2-ounce pomegranate liqueur
1/2-ounce vodka [80 or 100 proof based on preference]
[Additional 100 proof vodka or other high proof clear liquor for
the fire part of the drink]
Now to put the drink together-
1-Pour ginger liqueur into the 2.5 oz tall & skinny shot-type glass.
2-Rest spoon inside glass with convex surface up and tip resting on inner side of glass.
3- Now very carefully & slowly pour the orange juice onto the spoon so that it runs down the inner side of the glass in a gentle stream.
4- The slower this happens the better the separation of the color layers in the glass.
5-Mix pomegranate liqueur and vodka together and pour into the glass
carefully using the same process as the orange juice.
6-Pour a thin layer of the high proof vodka onto the surface of the pomegranate layer slowly. Then dim the lights & light up your shot. If not brave enough to drink it on fire just blow out the flame before drinking it!
With this drink, you can either sip it or drink it like a shot.
[Notes; The best separation of the layers is by using a 30ml syringe to drizzle the liquids down the inside of the glass[or you can use the syringe of the cough syrup of a small child that will work very will too. It is recommended using this method for crisp layers/ To find the syringe you can typically find them at medical supply stores]

Singapore Sling-
As promised another cool drink for the hot summer. The Singapore Sling was looking very good and refreshing. So the Singapore Sling was a kinda prototype to the Tiki drink and much like its offspring it has a lengthy list of ingredients too. But if you take the time to assemble what you need in the drink, you'll be very happy rewarded with an herbal, sweet-tart and refreshing cooler drink that has a seductive reddish color too. This is one drink to truly enjoy in, the hot sultry summer days and nights. If it's the humid heat or dry heat it's a great reliever for those hot summer months.
Serves 1
2-ounce of London Dry Gin
2-ounce unsweetened pineapple juice
3/4-ounce fresh lime juice
3/4-ounce Cherry Heering
2 teaspoon [ 1/3ounce] Cointreau
2 teaspoon [ 1/3-ounce] Benedictine
1/4 ounce of grenadine
2 to 4 dashes of bitters to taste
Soda water
As far as getting it together I couldn't find that I hope with the
ingredients that you are able to find how to put it together. It has been
a very hot day with a headache all day with the heat.
I love you all very much my dear friends & Followers
I wish you all well

Shango African God of-
Fire,Thunder & Lighting...
Shango is the orisha of fire, thunder and lightning, and he can be invoked to bring revenge upon enemies. He is an arrogant, violent and risk-taking Orisha. Those who cross him risk death by fire or electrocution. He can be a source of both vengeance and justice, of representing both raw rage and channeled strength. It is said that he was a passionate womanizer & thus is also associated with male sexuality, fertility and virility too. Shango had a long-standing feud with the African God Oggun his brother Ogun the African God of War & Iron of the Yoruba people of West Africa. It seems that Ogun and the other Gods had climbed down to earth on a spiderweb. This is at least what I discover about Sango brother. When creation was completed the gods realized that the people needed to clear more land in the forest where they lived. Unfortunately, the only tools
Ogun African god & brother
to Shango of Fire, Thunder
and Lighting...
These two brothers didn't
get along
available were made of soft metal, which wasn't suitable to cut down trees. However, The god Ogun had been given the secret of Iron by Orunmila a son of the supreme God Olorun. So he was able to use an Iron ax to clear the forest for the people. Ogun later shared the secret to iron with the other Gods and the humans too. He showed them how to shape them into weapons to defend themselves. In short it seems to me he was a kind and helpful God. He also cared about the humans and his own people the Gods. Though he is a very fierce god he was not evil & would help those who would pray to him. So I could see why the two brother don't get along and that is why they have had a long-standing feud with each other. Mostly Shango with his brother Ogun. So as in the World of the God Shango nothing is every made of iron or can be associated with it. This could be one of the problems between the brothers in my opinion. As for his brother God Ogun who rules with metal, in particular, this may have caused the conflict between the brothers.
Statue of Shango
Shango history dates back many centuries ago. He was the fourth king of the ancient Oyo Empire of the West African culture & politics for the Yoruba people. The Oyo Empire thrived from the 15th century until 1835. Today there are only about 30 million of the Yoruba decedents of his people in the Western Africa, mostly in Nigeria. I discovered that Shango beside a powerful god was also a powerful king, but some of the people in Oyo Empire thought he was an unfair King. It seems when two of his ministers challenged him for the throne, Shango fled into the forest. The King Shango wandered in the forest for quite a long time they say! In time, they have said he hung himself from a tree. [note I am getting this from history that I found on the great king and I don't know if it is actually true, I am just writing down what I find...Wendy]  I guess after the great King Shango died his enemies houses were set on fire, it was said it was by Shango's friends and loyal severities. However, there is another tale of this story, some believed that the King Shango had gone into the heavens & was sending fire down upon the Earth. This is how he became the God Shango of thunder, lighting, and fire. The God Shango of thunder, lightning, and fire slowly increases his powerful energy of these elements within the heavens and becomes a very powerful African God. In later years in Africa, there are folks that often depict him in artwork with a double ax on his head as a symbol of the Thunderbolt. Shango's thunderous energy became a symbol of the resistance of the Yoruba people during the 19th century when many of the Yoruba people were taken from their home Africa to America to be slaves. So Many of these African  Gods bring hope to the people of Africa and strength. I hope that you all enjoyed the history or the African God

Shango of Fire, Thunder, and Lighting I know that I
did and I hope to do more of the African Gods/Goddess
I love you all my dear friends & followers
Happy July 1, 2015
