Good afternoon my dears, Friends and Followers; for today's post I thought I would bring you back to my

Emerald Dragons

Quest for my love for the Dragon! By Exploring the Emerald Dragon. These Dragons mainly live among the tropical southern waters and the thick tropical and subtropical forests. The Emerald dragon tends to be very reclusive and love their privacy to a point that it has been very hard to determine where these Emerald dragons kings & lords have establish their lairs and dragon eggs/their young. However we do know a bit of their history of the ancient ones - And what we know is that these Emerald dragons do build their lairs around a inactive volcano or around the area of one.

These dragons are not finicky eaters. What they do prefer to eat living in the Tropical Forest is lizard and Giant one too! But they will basically eat anything in a pinch. I did find out some interesting facts about these beautiful dragons. These Emeralds get along get along the best with the Sapphire dragons and they fear the Red dragon the most because of their greed. This is probably due to the fact that they have precious Emerald that they tend protect in their lairs. Its a guess but I am sure that could be the reason. While these dragon happen to be the most reclusive and private, they are also the most popular of all the Gem Dragons. You might wonder why? Well its because they happen to live on the most difficult parallel plane in the tropical forest to find. Within this plane is another world very different than ours. In this world the Dragons live extremely long thousands of years. Only a few these being elves & faeries have been able to fine the open portal to find this Emerald world. 
These Emerald Dragons duties are to watch over nature within their plane, often assisted by Night elfin druids. Many of the Night elves had formed a close bond with the Emerald dragons. With the help of the

Night Elves that worked closely together with the Emerald dragons in this different plane they were able to control the flow of nature and influence the evolutionary path that it take it that realm. As a result of this 
the Emerald Dragons guard the Great Trees that hold their gems the Emeralds and can simultaneously see both the landscape of the Realm that they live in and the world between worlds. In their world it is an enchanted vision of which allows these Dragons to perceive their surrounding with perfect clarity even with 
their eyes closed. It seems that the Emerald Dragons are a peaceful, meditative race and most of these dragons spend their time in quiet contemplation and study of higher learning. They are highly intelligent and always striving to learn more about other worlds, fretting out the mysteries of creation and life but they keep all such secrets hidden within their Realm.
These dragons are surprisingly swift, fast moving and they will often teleport between the parallel worlds. They are least interested about the happening in our world the material plane as they would call it. And it would seem that it would take a major event to get their attention to the happenings of the material plane which would only be that of other Gem Dragon - Sapphire Dragon most likely. When they do enter the physical or material plane / our world they often choose to not appear in a physical form that humans would understand or think of as a dragon. In a world they are very privet and secretive.

Emerald Dragon 

As far as the primary lairs it consist of many traps and alarms that are designed to warn any visitor and other
type of threats to their lair. It seems that the Emerald dragons and why they have lived for thousands of years is because they prefer to quietly observe an intruder and will rarely emerge from their lair. If needed, they will call for or even send for their kindred or chief vassals to handle such duties while they sit and watch hidden. It seems that these Emerald dragons have it made and that they are kings in their world realm in my opinion. 
However I did discover if the Emerald dragons are forced to protect their lairs the prefer to attack by 
ambush, using stealth and surprise attacks to quickly disable their attackers. If the threat proves to be too great to handle the Emerald Dragons will not hesitate to retreat. However it doesn't stop there, these are very intelligent dragons so they will plan revenge and its patience can last for centuries if needed.
 Breath weapons; they have two types of breath weapons 1-a cone of neurotoxic poison gas 2- a cone of sleep gas. 
Water Breathing weapons; Emerald dragons can breathe underwater indefinitely and can freely use its breath weapons, spells, and other abilities while submerged.
Spells & Skills; Probe ones thoughts, move silently, send a loud wail that send sonic vibration through an enemy, cast Arcane Spells, mind spells & Enchantment spells.
Alternate Form; It seems that this dragons have the ability to change their form starting at a young age. These changes could be either animals or that of humans. As they get older they have the ability to stay in the form they choose as long as they choose.

The Bronze Dragon-

The Bronze Dragon-

The proud Bronze Dragons are the guardians of the timeways throughout the different dimensions and  parallel worlds. Protecting time from interlopers, restoring them to their proper place and maintaining the balance of time throughout the universe. It is said that when the Bronze Dragon is not traveling through the passageways of the Caverns of Time and keep the Balance, they can be most often found in deserts or in the coastal regions. 
Bronze dragons are very cunning, much like, their cousins the Blue dragons and value wisdom and patience over all else. Its their duties of guardians of time and keeping the balance of it, that gives them this patience through the centuries of time. 
Bronze dragons exist only, to keep Time in a flowing stream. So that all events will happen in the order as fate intended them to.

Bronze dragons have been sensitive to the flow and balance of time throughout the universes for decades. And possibly today. Even in their deep caverns underneath the vast sands of the deserts or caves by the coastal regions, these guardians of Time can often be found maintaining and repairing as mortals by entering the mortal world.  All this just to keep the balance of Time throughout the Universe. 
The Bronze dragons are often solitary dragons. They can best described as aloof and introspective, constantly thinking and debating options in their minds. Bronze dragons are often, if not most commonly seen in the mortal communities.

 

They disguise themselves [shape-shift] and join the mortal societies for extended periods of time, often without ever revealing their true identities, possibly for the reason of just a way of keeping the balance in a closer way of doing his job. It is said that Bronze dragons sometimes become very actively involved with the communities of humans that they have joined and will lend a hand in order to maintain the safety of the present world at large. These dragons will keep monitoring how events impact the progress of how fate affects the worlds and universes too. 
Their Physical appearance-
The bronze dragon is quite fierce in appearance, despite its good nature.While most of its body was a reflective bronze color, the

wings are often tipped with green. They have three large horns protruding from each cheek, pointing back towards his tail. These tips are black and are very sharp, and are often used for grooming. The tongue of the bronze dragon is that of a purple-gray, long and pointed, but not forked like that of most of his cousins dragons.He

 

has a large frill that runs down the upper part of his neck. They can

smell like that of a sea-spray. These dragons possessed the ability to alter their form as I had said before, as shape-shifters. They can assume the appearance of any type of animal or humans when they chose to.
For an Example; A friendly dolphin that saved a drowning child; a mercenary sailor eager to fight pirates; a diver specializing in searching undersea shipwrecks for possible treasure - all these things could be a Bronze Dragon in a different form/

As many of these dragons uses their abilities to shape-shift into many forms of what they may what do blend into the mortal world. They have even used their abilities to get closer to an enemy of theirs to target them. They always say it is best to have your enemies closer and the Bronze Dragons can do so without being seen with their shapeshifting ability's.
Combat- The Bronze dragons are often fascinated with battles, especially fighting to defeat evil, they have a strong moral compunctions against killing living beings unless absolutely necessary. These dragons will often join a good aligned armies to fight the forces of evil, either in human form or their own. 
In battle, their weapon of choice is to breathe if in their dragon

form - a repulsion gas, which is so putrid that it will force absolutely everything away. They also like to relocate a foe to a remote location where it can do not harm when possible. But when the Bronze dragon is absolutely forced  to kill and there is no other way, the dragon is a deadly dragon into his enemies. By roasting his enemies with bursts of lighting or ripping them open with its claws.
The Bronze Dragon Breathe weapon is;
Well he has two separate breath weapons. 
1-is an electrically similar to a lightning bolt 
2- is that of a cone of gas with that make the mind feel a great repulsion to the dragon.
History- These  dragons enjoyed observing and interacting with

other animals, but mostly especially humans.

 

They will go out of their way to them - the humans even shape-shifting and living among them for sometimes centuries.All along

the humans never knowing that they are in the presence of a  grand Bronze Dragon. During these times the dragon never seeks for payment for their help in any form. They always sought justice as best they could. They could not abide to see any creature being treated with cruelty of any sort. 
Now the older the dragon, the more pronounced the passion for justice becomes. They are probably the most social species of dragon, and often swam and play together in groups. These dragons also love to attend human festivals and their parties which they always attend in a human form.  These dragons are also spiritually connected to Silver Dragons . 
They are able to speak with animals, create food and water, make fog, control the water and the weather and detect thought.
The Lair - Most  of the Bronze Dragons are often found along the coastal regions of the world. They like to dwell along the sea, or deserts regions of the world. When they have made their homes along the coastal regions it is to make use of their aquatic abilities, while staying close to the human settlements. These dragons are exceptional swimmers and have quite the Lair's by the sea as they do in the desert too. As the coastal lairs are usually above the water level and they preferred to make their lairs in an island volcano.

 

Mating-the bronze dragons mated for life and the duties as

parents are a serious as a parenting on both parts. They both protect their eggs at any cost. And lay the eggs in a dry cave and is relatively warm environment for their young ones.Upon hatching they are protected by both  parents and taught by both too.as it matures.
This is the beauty of the Bronze Dragon

The Blue Dragon-2013

The Blue Dragon

Unlike the friendly White Dragons who are quite taken towards the humans, the blue dragons are a very arrogant race. They are also know to be the most vain and prideful of all the races of Draco-Dragons. Just like their cousins - The fiery Fire dragon, The cunning & territorial of the green dragon and of course there is the cruelty of the black dragon.
History of the Blue Dragon~
Blue Dragons are know as storm dragons & are among the most vain and arrogant of the dragon race. The take great pleasure in wielding their powers, engaging in combat or lording over humans and other lesser creatures to prove that they can do so by their enormous size. Blue dragons are also extremely territorial dragons.  They rarely give intruders even accidental one's the opportunity to explain themselves what had happen before they attack.  
Blue dragons are more likely  than other varieties of dragons to battle powerful enemies or other dragons over violate borders of their own or other territories they may want to lord over. This can prove to be particularly problem attic - given that the blue dragons are also more finicky about their environment or habitat than their cousins-
Blue dragons lack the cruelty of the black dragons and the ambition of the green and reds - Some blue dragons live as peaceful neighbors of humans communities or even on occasion of other dragon cousins which I find quite bizarre, after doing some of my reading up on the blue dragon. Being that they are so arrogant and territorial. The blues, innate draconic greed, blue dragons have been known to leave behind treasures they find unattractive, feeling that the presence of such a treasure would sully the magnificence of their hoards.
 The true treasure thus is the magnificence of Blue Dragon Himself~
The Life Style of the Dragon~

The Blue dragons Lairs are usually in the Sages Mountains,  near the coastal regions which is the most precisely, areas for the blue dragon. They also prefer coastal areas with high cliffs over looking the deep oceans. Having a cave just above the high mountain tops with the pounding sea below is a perfect home for a blue dragon. 
If a blue dragon cannot find a properly stormy region to which  to settle his home - he can make do with whatever terrain is available, as long as it has its own territory . A blue might locate its lair on a high mountain top in a jungle in the underdark or a very rainy deep forest. Anywhere except perhaps  the coldest area's of the arctic climates, but any blue dragon living in a location that lacks frequent thunder storms, is thinking that location is only as a temporary home, even if it ends up dwelling there for a few hundred years.
Ultimately a Blue Dragon finds happiness only in a place where he can regular be near thunder storms beating on the horizon and where he can soar between the clouds high in the darken thunder clouds and lighting and using his weapon breath of lighting...
The Blue dragon Lairs~

They are enormous stone ruins or caves in the sides of hills,cliffs or mountains. Blues enjoy taking over structures built by other dragons. They make their lairs as lofty as possible to survey their domains from great heights - Elevations makes them feel part of the storms that roll in from the high rolling seas. Even if a blue dragon cannot find a structure at a high altitude he will most likely choose a lair which it cannot be easily access from the main entrance - only by flight and no intruders on land can enter if not it being nearly impossible by a huge climb up a cliff, jungles, forest etc. 
Their greatest treasures that the blue dragons love are mostly gems - particularly sapphires and other blue stones like blue diamonds. They equally admire lovey works of art and jewelry . Although such an event is rare a blue dragon might smell of Ozone- 
Though the presence of the storm - rain or wind scent is also their too...
The Traits of the Blue~

The Scales of a Blue dragons are slightly more reflective than those of other dragons. A person could not use a blue dragon scale as a mirror but in blue or dark environment the scale will take on the surrounds hue it's in and blends into the sky or element around them-
The horns and brow ridge of the dragon funnel rainwater and other precipitation away form the eyes. When combined with a blue dragon's keen vision - this feature enables the dragon to see better in inclement weather than most creatures do-
The wings of the blue dragon are more flexible than those of their cousins, this is because so they can steer through the strong winds and boost their speeds, like sailors tacking on a enormous ship through thunder storms.
As I continue my love for the dragon, I hope the Blue has fascinated you as much as they will always

Yellow Dragons-

Yellow Dragons-
I thought I would do another Post on the Dragon!

For the Love of the Dragon!I haven't done one in a while and TheYellow Dragon is just as Beautiful in his own way as his cousins.
The Yellow Dragons love the desert and they prefer area's of the sand, 
wind-swept, and desalinated places. They are most comfortable in the daytime temperatures of the hot  desert sun of 105 plus+ degrees.  Although these Yellow dragons can easily survive in subfreezing temperatures in the deserts at night fall too. So in some ways the YELLOW DRAGON! Is quite versicle, compared to his cousins of the either Black Dragon, Purple Dragon or even the Green Dragon.

The Yellow Dragon scales at birth are a tan color and have no luster of shine or shimmer, like that of his cousins of the Purple Dragon, Gold dragon or even the Red Dragon. This is to their advantage, for they don't reflect in the light very well, as well as their teeth and claws. As adults  and as the dragon ages their scales will change to a desert yellow sand color, but they lack the luster and shimmer.  This becomes a great camouflage for the Yellow Dragons in the hot desalinated deserts. This way they can get a huge jump on their prey you could say! 

 

The Yellow Dragons are very Solitary, Selfish Creatures that form no close bonds with any other dragons including other Yellow dragons! They are highly territorial too! The only time that they'll let another Yellow Dragon into their territory is to Mate! Which is quite rare! The mating of the Yellow Dragons could be odd you could say, compared to some of his dragon cousins'. When there is a rare mating  within the hot deserts of the Yellow dragon, immediately afterwards, the Male and female dragons will separate never to see each other again. The mother of the yellow dragon will raise the offspring, but wont' go out of her way to protect the young dragon from any attacker's or prey. 

The young yellow dragons usually will leave home before they reach juvenile age. This makes it hard the young dragons to survive. It is probably why the yellow dragons are such rare dragons. 

 

When the young yellow dragons leave home their main enemies that they will  face is the Brass Dragons.
The Yellow Dragon Breath weapon is that of a cone of scorching

air and earth. His Spells are silence [ he can move along the desert sands as quiet as a mouse you could say, to catch his prey] Other Spells are; he can either create/destroy water. He can improve invisibity and make a wall of wind or stone. 

The Yellow Dragons are fierce and cunning. They are also very good fighter even if forced into a situation where direct combat. In this type of situation they will use the spell abilities which they have many.

Ice Dragons - Legend/Myth

Ice Dragons

On my quest to find as many of these majestic creatures as I can-

"For the Love of the Dragon!"
My next dragon is the very unique and not often heard of Ice Dragon. 
History~
These Amazing creatures live in Glaciers. They migrated from the Arctic to Antarctic regions to ensure that they stay in the darker regions, and a wintry climates. These dragons live in different kinds of Lairs to. But it isnt' that different if you really think about, given where they live. Normally they will find a enormous glacier that is facing the open sea or ocean that is higher up then the ocean levels. Sometimes they do find a iceberg for a lair but the are not usually big enough for their large bodies, so that's why the Ice dragons will look for the prefect glacier and will hollow it out with many tunnels deep within the glacier they have chosen for their home high up on a mountain in the Antarctic. 
Appearance~ 
These dragons can be either white, very lite blue dark blue,dark purple and pale pink. Their wings reflect the sun

when they fly but they  have to fly at great heights for their wings to do this. When you look at the Ice dragons wings they will appear very thin and textured almost like the texture of snow. Their tail, claws and horns have the same icy white hide too.

When the Ice Dragons wings do reflect the sunlight from those great heights in the very cold climates of the Antarctic, the animals below won't be able to see the Ice Dragon because the sun rays are going right through his very thin textured wings. This makes it very easy for these dragons in the icy climate to find food and go hunting without his prey even seeing him. 
These dragons can also fly at great speeds. This could be due to their wings and how textured and thin there are. They are also very wide so they are able to maneuver quickly with those great speeds. 
Water Elements~ 
Ice dragons are part of the water element family and can do many things with the ice and water. 
These dragons can breathe ice shards that can pierce  through anything. They can create Tsunamis

because they are part of the water element and they can create big waves that can appear in hurricanes. These unique dragons can even make so now by flying high up in the air and freeze the moisture into snow. 
Weapons~
These dragons have a strong icy blast of air and shards of ice. 
Diet~
When these beautiful dragons go on the hunt it will usually freeze its prey alive or dead because it likes its meal to be frozen.

It also freezes its prey because it might want to eat its prey later. So they keep it in their lairs for safe keeping during the long winter months. 
When these dragons hunt for seals, the seals tend to go underwater.

The Ice Dragons can go after them but for only a limited about of time. This would give you an good idea why the Ice Dragons like the use of their strong icy blast weapon on the seals and all other animals. It makes for a quick freeze on their prey. Especially the seals - particularly due to the fact that they have a limited time in the ocean to chase after them.  
They most popular prey is polar bears, killer whales, giant quid, walrus, leopard seals. And really most anything they can blast with their icy breath for food in the long winter months. I found that the Ice Dragon to have many different  personality, when doing this post. This of course is in any species. But for some reason I found it to be more so in the Ice dragon, then in some of the other dragons that I have done. This might have to do with the different pieces of art that I have found on the Ice Dragon.

It seems with this installment of the Ice dragon, the Artists have made a variety of different personalities of this type of dragon. I found this to be very interesting . And I love the artwork too.

Japanese Dragon Ryu

Japanese Dragon Ryu-
In this post I will be covering the Japaneses Dragons and how they are similar in ways to that 

Japanese Dragon Ryu 

of the Chinese Dragons, but are more serpentine in shape plus they have only the three 
claws on each foot rather that the 4 to 5 claw foot. These Dragons are said to fly less frequently but I will 
read-up on that to see if that is true for all the Japanese dragons. I did discover that the reason the Japanese
Dragons only have the three toes/claws is because of the Japanese believe Eastern dragon originated in their  
native homeland. The people of Japan believed that, when the dragons began to leave the homeland,
they gained toes. The further the dragons went from their home Japan, the more toes they gained. Which 
would explained why the Chinese and Korean Dragons have more toes. And that is another tale to be told another day. The Mythological history of the Asian dragon traces back its roots back to India before the 
birth of historical Buddhism in the year 500BC, and has its foundation in a belief in Naga, meaning human- like creatures who wore crowns or serpents on their heads. How the Ryu Dragon however, was said to be 
imported into japan from china together with Buddha around the mid-6 century AD. Most Japanese Zen 
temples have the Ryu Dragon painted on their ceilings or their assembly halls since it the Ryu Dragon is a 
protector of the Buddhist law. The Japanese Ryu Dragon is a creature of harboring - many different aspects 
coming together as one within the imagery of the Irezumi. The Ryu dragons are associated with the Japanese Buddhism, but the dragon is also able to control storms and rains, and this ability makes the Ryu dragon a symbol of fertility as well, since there can be no good rice harvest without the proper amount of rain. 
The Ryu Dragon also has the ability to shape-shift as well and is well known when one delves deeper into the

mythology surrounding. The Ryu is quite handy with his magical proprieties too. It is also said that the Ryu Dragon had associated with many of Buddhas thru the ancient times and with well known historical figures in
the Japanese Culture... One of these famous Cultures is called ' Dragon rising to the heavens'. Basically the story or tale goes Ryu sho ten ' A dragon rises out of smoke near Mt. Fuji, ascending toward the sky.'
  I have also found that the Japanese dragons are diverse legendary creatures in the Japanese mythology and folklore. Some of these myths were that of the amalgamate native legends with imported stories about dragons from china, korea and india. Like these other Asian dragons , most Japanese dragons are water deities  that are associated with rainfall and large bodies of water and are typically depicted as large, wingless, serpentine creatures with clawed feet. 
 It is said the most famous of all the Japanese dragons is the Tatsu or Ryu which is a descendant of a primitive three -toed variety of Chinese dragon. This Japanese dragons are traditionally associated more with the sea than the rain. This is because Japan is less vulnerable to drought-related disasters as compared to China. Therefore they didn't feel the same need to pray to rain - releasing dragons.

Japanese Dragon Ryu 

I also found out that the Ryu Dragon was originated from Buddhist religion and is one of the four divine beasts from Japanese mythology. The other three beings were the Phoenix, Turtle and the Kirin. If you didn't know the Kirin was its the Japanese Unicorn - and If you are interested in learning more about this amazing creature I have actually written a post on this beautiful Creature... Just have a look on my labels under Japanese Kirin.. Anyway back to the post.
